David Rourke, ice cream man, child molester

TAYLOR, Mich. -- An ice cream truck driver accused of criminal sexual conduct involving a 13-year-old boy and several other children will stand trial.

A judge ordered David Rourke, of Taylor, to stand trial on charges he sexually assaulted several children in Taylor.

Rourke was arrested on June 11 on suspicion of trying to lure a boy to his home to have sex with him.

Police said the victim was an acquaintance of the driver. Four other victims, boys ages 9 to 14, have come forward since police began their investigation.

Police said Rourke would use his frozen treats to lure the children to a dilapidated playground and molest them.

Investigators said Rourke handcuffed the children and held them hostage while he had sex with him.

ya know, it's pretty fucking sad when these innocent children have to go through this shit. I hear an ice cream truck, and I think of my happy childhood. These poor kids will hear one and all those horrific memories will flood in. I am so pissed off right now

I have always been suspicious of ice cream men. Unless it is a teenager or something I do not know why a grown person would do this job. I think it is a pedo job.

When I lived in the hood, we have THE COOLEST ice cream person in the world. It was a Jamaican woman, who flew the Jamaican flag from her antenna, drove some little SUV with chrome rims, and the traditional ice cream song that blared from her speakers had a beat. I remember the first time I heard her coming. It was undeniably the ice cream truck, but it had a beat, for christ's sake. I thought to myself, "Yep, I'm definitely in the hood." :p

I am always soooo suspicious of ice cream truck drivers too...within 5 blocks in each direction around me there are about 65 sexual offenders and about 4 different ice cream trucks or vans drive by my house a day. I am so glad i don't have children to worry about and I am safe at twenty years old from pedos at least....
