Parents Targeted, Killed While Children At Home

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - Two young girls discovered the bodies of their parents after masked men forced their way inside the family's Beaver Falls home on Tuesday. Richard Warren Harper and Demetria Harper, both 32, were shot dead in their basement in the 800 block of Second Avenue sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

WTAE Channel 4's Shannon Perrine reported the couple's 8-year-old and 10-year-old daughters led a relative who stopped to visit at about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday to the bodies. Both victims had been shot with a handgun, police said.

Beaver Falls Police Chief Charles Jones said investigators believe the couple was targeted and that the incident was not random.
