EMT Couty Alexander Married in March, Killed Her in June

Louisiana - Couty Alexander, 22, was booked into Livingston Parish Jail on a count of second-degree murder after he confessed to shooting his wife, Christa Ann Alexander, 24, said Jason Ard, chief of operations for the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Alexander told detectives that he shot his wife with a 9 mm handgun in the back of the head while she was trying to gather clothing from her closet. Alexander called 911 at 5:51 a.m. Sunday, saying he returned home from a 12-hour shift as an EMT to find his wife dead.

However, Christa Alexander was shot and killed before her husband went to work.

The Alexanders’ next-door neighbor and landlord described the couple as quiet newlyweds who married in March and were active members of the Fundamental Baptist Church.

LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - Testimony is scheduled to begin Tuesday in the trial of a Livingston man accused of killing his pregnant wife.

Couty Alexander is charged with second degree murder and first degree feticide. It's been a little over a year since the murder of Christa Ann Alexander, 24, and her unborn child. She was found shot to death inside her Colyell home in June 2008. She was four months pregnant.

wow 4 months pregnant... he HAD to know... he went out on that 12 hr shift just to make sure they couldn't save her or that baby.

I am pretty damn sure now that she was trying to leave him... Got married in March... died in June... she got pregnant around the time of the wedding.

I was just wondering about this one a couple of months ago. I wanted to know wtf the motive was as well?

He says it was an accident, but i don't believe that shit at all. She was gathering clothing out of the closet when he shot her. I think it was 60 percent that he felt cramped and stifled in his marriage and impending fatherhood, and 40 percent the had an argument (probably about his flirting or more that was evident on his MySpace) she was leaving him and he snapped.

Not a good reason but there you are. He was mad that he had married young and his wife had gotten knocked up immediately so he couldn't go party.
