    14 year old charged with capital murder in the death of newborn

    Girl, 14, gives birth, kills newborn

    ASSOCIATED PRESS
    06/26/2008

    BAYTOWN, Texas (AP) -- Police near Houston say they have charged a 14-year-old girl with murdering her baby in a school bathroom after secretly giving birth.

    Police in Baytown said Thursday that the girl is charged as a juvenile with capital murder.

    Baytown Police Capt. Roger Clifford says prosecutors will decide whether to certify her as an adult. She cannot be executed if convicted because of her age.

    The girl is accused of giving birth April 2 at Cedar Bayou Junior High. Police say she stuffed toilet paper in the infant's throat and submerged him in a toilet.

    The girl's attorney, Gerald Yoakum, says she didn't realize she was giving birth.

    What?!?! I'm pretty sure she knew when the baby came out she had given birth. She fucking stuffed toilet paper in her mouth and drowned the baby so I don't think she thought she just took a huge crap!

    I searched and didn't find it...it was posted before under different titles and thats probably why!!
    Anyway it is an update..

    But she was just charged with capital murder today!!

    Yeah, I've found that if you don't have a name, sometimes location works. I did a search for "Baytown" and got 4 threads (3 about this case). Capital murder for a 14 year old, scary.

    one of the reasons our jr high sucked was because the stalls in the girls bathroom had no damn doors! looking back it was probably because our town had no movie theater or roller rink, so what else is a young lady to do but get it on! haha oh, uh, not me of course. I mean the riff raff...

    And I do recall 2 or 3 girls who were knocked up by 7th grade. I believe they was around 12 or 13. I remember always teasing em by telling them they probably missed their FIRST periods.

    ahh, what happened to good ol' fashioned sluts who had their kids like noble tramps, at the prom! THEM broads had class!

    The Harris County District Attorney's Office has not decided whether the girl should be certified to stand trial as an adult. If so, she could receive a life sentence without the possibility of release if convicted.

    If convicted as a juvenile, the girl could receive as little as probation, or as much as 40 years confinement by the Texas Youth Commission until age 19 and then be transferred to a state prison to serve the remainder of her sentence.

    A capital murder conviction can carry a possible death sentence, but the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision in 2005, banned executions of juvenile criminals.

    At 14 I know for a fact that a girl knows right from wrong... to think otherwise is pure ignorance.

    Even my 10 yr old can tell you right from wrong... especially about children.

    Where are the parents? I honestly have to wonder if she did this out of fear of reprocussions at home and what/if anything the parents are doing.
