Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a woman after they found her baby sweating in a hot car with dead fish in the trunk Wednesday, according to a sheriff's report.
Dianna Louise Paul, 32, left her child in a car while she fished at a lake around 100 yards from the vehicle on Ninth Street East, the sheriff's report said.
Deputies found the baby Wednesday just after 3:30 p.m. in the car, sweating profusely with a stench coming from the trunk where they found dead fish.
The baby was so overheated deputies removed the child from the car and into air conditioning in a nearby office, according to the sheriff's report.
When Paul returned to her car, she became irate when she found her child gone. After deputies returned the child to Paul, child protection investigators later said the baby should be taken into custody.
Paul became irate and kicked two deputies as they pulled the baby from her grasp, the sheriff's report said. The sheriff's report said Paul continued to resist so a deputy stunned her with a Taser.
In addition to child neglect, deputies charged Paul with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and assault on a law enforcement officer. She is being held without bond in the Manatee County jail.
