Patrick Mikes Reported Missing By Sons , Relative Now " Person Of Interest" *found*

    Patrick Mikes
When they said the boys didnt report him missing for 2 days I kinda figured this would be the direction it would goPolice looking for Troy dad missing since Friday
Troy police are seeking information about a 55-year-old man who has been missing since Friday night.

Patrick Joseph Mikes is reported to have left his home on Friday around 5:30 p.m. on a bike ride. He was reported missing around 10:50 a.m. Sunday by two of his sons — 16 and 21 years of age.
Mikes, an avid bicyclist, was last seen leaving his home in the 2000 block of Homewood Street, near Long Lake and Adams in Troy. He was wearing a yellow shirt and black spandex shorts and was riding a black and red Cannondale Super 6 road bicycle.

Troy Police Capt. Bob Redmond said there were signs of a struggle at the home.

Investigators are in the process of piecing that evidence together in an effort to determine if this assault is related to Mr. Mikes’ disappearance,” Redmond said.
One person is in custody and being questioned, but no charges have been filed, and police are unable to release any additional information about that person.
“It would be premature to indicate that we are focusing on any one individual as a suspect at this juncture, as the investigation is ongoing,” a press release states.
Mikes is a white man, about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, with short gray hair. His bicycle is also missing.
Redmond was unable to provide much information, but did say that police are seeking any information at all that anyone might have about Mikes.
“We are seeking information from anyone who may be aware of Mr. Mikes’ bike routes or general routines, as well as locations he might frequent,” Redmond said. “In addition, anyone who might have any information about his associates, information as to why someone might want to hurt him, or anyone who may have had recent contact with him, should contact the Troy Police Department at 248-524-3477.”
Media members asked Redmond several questions, but he said he could not answer most of them. He could not comment on any history of police activity at the house, what the house was like when police arrived or whether Mikes had gone missing before. He also said he could not comment when asked whether either of Mikes’ sons were the person in custody.
Mikes’ online resume listed his areas of expertise as financial reporting and analysis, and budgeting and forecasting.
Between 2007-09, he worked at Huron Consulting Group as a project consultant and he also once worked at Tower Automotive.
Mikes has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s from the University of Notre Dame.

Troy police say missing man's relative is person of interest
1 person in custody for questioning in disappearance of Patrick Mikes; police find evidence of assault at Mikes' Troy home
    TROY, Mich. -
Troy police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 55-year-old man.

Police said Tuesday that a person of interest in the case is a relative of Patrick Mikes.

The family member is in custody for questioning. That person has not been charged."He still is a person of interest in what is apparently a violent altercation that happened inside the home," said Lt. Robert Redmond. "The investigation is still ongoing and I am quite confident there will be more to come."

The person of interest will be arraigned on financial charges Wednesday in Auburn Hills. Police sources said they are searching for Mikes outside of the Troy area.

During a press conference Monday, Redmond said Mikes left his home in the 2000 block of Homewood Drive Friday night on a bike ride but never came back.

He was reported missing two days later by his children, who are 21 years old and 16 years old.

Redmond said Mikes is an avid bicyclist and was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and black spandex shorts.

Redmond also said investigators found evidence of an assault inside the home and are trying to figure out if it is related to Mikes disappearance.

"The on-scene investigator who went to the house on Sunday located evidence indicating that an assault took place at the residence," Redmond said.

Search underway for body of missing Troy man

Grandparents bonded him out of jail even as police say they have video of him making large purchase of cleaning supplies
Also have centered in on an area in Gennessee county they are searching

Several locations in Genesee County being searched for body of 55-year-old Patrick Mikes Sr.
    PONTIAC, Mich. -
The search is underway in Genesee County for the body of 55-year-old Patrick Mikes Sr. whose sons reported him missing Sunday.

Local 4 has learned that several locations are being searched in Genesee County, including the Holly Recreation Center and an area near the Brent Run landfill in Montrose Township. MSP cadaver dogs are being used in the search.

Troy police have said they believe Mikes Sr. was killed in the basement of his home.
Sources say evidence points to Mikes' oldest son. However, police are not calling Patrick Mikes Jr. a suspect in his fathers' disappearance but a person of interest.

The search is based on phone records of Mikes Jr. from Friday, the last day his dad was seen alive.

Blood and other evidence were found in the basement of Mikes' Troy home. The Oakland County Medical Examiner says it is highly unlikely anyone would live through whatever happened in that basement.

Police now have video from a local store which shows someone buying cleaning supplies on Sunday.
[....]However, police said his helmet and bike shoes have been found at his home, and suspect he wouldn't leave for a ride without them.

Son charged with credit card fraud
Patrick Mikes Jr., 21, was arraigned Wednesday on three counts of illegally using a financial transaction device. He pleaded not-guilty and his bail was set at $50,000. He is scheduled to be back in court Aug. 13.

Mikes is accused of using a credit card that didn't belong to him at Great Lakes Crossing on July 26.

Police said the card the 21-year-old used did not belong to his father. It was his younger brother's card.

DNA all over basement ,atched son and dads mixed
Dads still missing but son now charged with murder

TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) - The missing Troy man's son, Patrick Mikes Jr ., was arraigned in court today on an open murder charge.

Mikes Jr. is back in jail and is being held without bond.

    [...]
“We have met the burden, the extremely high burden that the prosecutor’s office has set for us to meet in order to get that warrant,” said Troy Police Captain Robert Redmond. “I am confident, as they are confident that Mr. Mikes was killed by his son.”

Police say DNA tests show that the massive amount of blood found in the family’s basement after Mikes Senior was reported missing, belonged to both he and his son.

On Thursday, Troy Police resumed their search for Patrick Mikes Sr. in Montrose Township.

TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Patrick Mikes' murder case will be back in court today.

Patrick Mikes Jr. is expected to be in 52-4 District Court at 1:30 p.m. for the preliminary hearing in the case.
