homeless man faces multiple charges after police said he sexually assaulted a teenage girl in a bathroom at the Grand Victoria Casino, according to Elgin police.
Christopher A. Turner, 32, remained in Kane County jail Wednesday, his bail set at $400,000. He’s charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
On Saturday afternoon, police were called by the mother of a 15-year-old girl, who was in the parking lot of a strip mall near the casino, according to a police report. Someone with her was keeping Turner in the area until police arrived, the report states.
Police said that Turner approached the girl in the strip mall and asked to perform a sex act on her, according to the report. He offered to pay the girl $50, she accepted and accompanied him to a men’s bathroom inside the casino building, the police report said. The bathroom was not inside the age-restricted casino area, Lt. Dan O’Shea said.
Turner is accused of assaulting her and leaving the bathroom, police said.
After police were told of the incident, they arrested Turner in the parking lot. He is scheduled to appear next in Kane County court July 6.
