Ingrid Agbebaku Denied Restraining Order, Hubby Blows Her Away Next To Sleeping Kids

Murder-suicide: Eugene Agbebaku, 33, shot dead his estranged wife before killing himself
Woman denied restraining order shot dead by estranged husband in murder-suicide
A mother-of-two who was denied a restraining order against her estranged husband was shot dead by the 33-year-old on the same day the divorcing couple were scheduled to appear in court.
Ingrid Agbebaku, 32, obtained a temporary restraining order against Eugene Agbebaku
    [...]
But, last month, that order was dissolved after a judge said Ingrid did not have enough evidence to prove it was necessary.
But Eugene broke into a Clearwater home where Ingrid was staying with her grandmother and shot her dead with an assault rifle while their two children, aged five and 22 months, were inside.

He then left the property and fatally shot himself.
A neighbour who heard the gun shots went outside to find the couple’s two children standing on the street, crying.
The newspaper reported that Eugene tried to commit suicide in late February after his arrest in the prostitution sting.

Eugene, who works as a UPS driver, solicited an undercover female detective for sex and requested to not use a condom.
He later confessed to police later that he want to contract a disease and admitted to hiring prostitutes three to four times a week for unprotected sex.

In court records Ingrid said Eugene had grown increasingly unstable following his arrest.
She told how he had broken into the family home and destroyed a television after a brief stay in a mental-health treatment facility.

'I am afraid that his mental instability will harm us in the future,' Ingrid wrote in the request for the restraining order.

But Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Pat Siracusa dissolved the restraining order on May 7 after reviewing her petition.

'While my heart goes out to the victim's family, and I fully understand their grief, I am bound by the laws of the state of Florida when I am asked to rule on these requests for injunctions,' Siracusa told the Tampa Bay Times after the deaths.

I know they make some women feel better but honestly ROs are usless, if they want to hurt you they will. I have an extremely long RO against my ex-husband, it was granted with my divorce against my wishes because the judge felt that I needed it but it requires that he has to know where I live, work, etc, in order to be protected but no one is obligated to tell me where he is and trust me they won't. When I tried to serve him with papers to terminate his parental rights it took 5 years to find him because no one would tell me where he was.

But when I find out that he and his new wife frequently get pulled over, frisked and he gets put in the back of a police car until they prove she's not me and in danger it does make me giggle, a lot!

Fucking hate this situation. May he burn in hell for all eternity.

Restraining order did help me to realise the situation was as bad as I imagined. I had that paper and I was like, "Shit just got real".

restraining orders only work if the person served respects and observes the law. If that person respects and observes the law, you wouldn't need one in the first place. A restraining order is just paper, it won't stop bullets, fists, knives or any other weapon. Go wave a piece of paper at a drunk with a gun, see what happens. Been there, done that, didn't do a damn bit of good; just gave him more ammunition. Bad, bad joke.

I think the biggest reason restraining orders are issued is to compound any charges incurred after subsequent transgressions. In other words, it's something else to charge an offender with should that order be broken.

RO's are a form of evidence that help judges make their decisions. You can go one better and get a PO which is just a fancier version that requires a lot more detail. They are just pieces of paper and not bullet proof vests but they are proof and evidence that judges can use, and trust me, if you have to take someone down with deadly force to protect yourself they can go a long way towards making sure you stay a free citizen.

In an ideal world it would help with further charges but when I was exchanging my son with my ex he beat the ever living hell out of me when I went to the police they brought the chief out, my ex's uncle, and he looked at my bloody face and asked "What did you do to piss him off?" I had asked for diaper money, for that I should have certainly been severely punished.

Of course, they didn't anticipate that I knew a NYS Supreme Court Justice. I got my son back safely and my ex has not seen him since, he has been adopted by my now husband.

As if anything could've justified that kind of beating. You're not from Piermont, are you?

I got a restraining order pretty easily. It helped my moron ex didn't get an attorney for the matter and spoke on his own behalf. He admitted he followed me after I told him to leave me alone. He of course didn't admit he tried to kill me. But the judge said that just him admitting to following me was proof enough for an R.O. for two years. I carried those papers, my ID, and a copy of my ex's ID every where for almost four years. I had them in a manila envelope in my purse at all times. I still have everything in a lock box in the basement.

but ROs are pretty worthless, considering when you call the police, because he's right outside your house, and they say they can't do ANYTHING, because he's on the street during a public event (a car show) and has the right to be at that public event... it's pretty fucked up. He sat on the street, staring at my bedroom window, for TEN hours. what the actual fuck? Who has that kind of time?

This shit wouldn't fly now, I tell you. The new sheriff and police chief are both family friends. Also, my mom got her concealed weapon's permit since then, too.

Bath, NY at that time. That attitude was unfortunately what I frequently ran into there. I had been told if I was a "better wife" he wouldn't beat me, the usual wife-beater defense.

You know, ROs would work fine if we could hit the beater with a baseball bat and stuff the RO down his throat and he chokes to death on it. That's the ticket! I'm a tad hostile on the subject; I went thru my last divorce there were few laws on the books covering DV. You had to half kill your victim before they'd even arrest him. One judge said, on the record, that we should draw the curtain of compassion on the married couple and allow them the privacy to reconcile and settle their differences. ANOTHER genius in the Legislature filibustered a bill on DV that would make marital rape a crime. The slime worm actually said, " You can't rape your wife, sex is her duty". YES, he did. It may have been years ago, but the Good Ole Boy network is still alive and well.

I ask because I'm from Rockland Co. and Piermont was a village in the county where all of the municipal employees were related in some way, just sounded familiar...
