A Framingham mother is demanding answers after her son’s tooth was pulled at school by a teacher’s aide. What made the matter worse was the tooth wasn’t even loose.
Mother Sabrina GranSabrina Grant Demands Answers After Teachers Aide Pulls Autistic Sons Good Tootht said her 10-year-old autistic son Chris Quirk went to the Wilson Elementary School one day last week with a loose tooth. When he came home, Grant said a different molar had been pulled out without parental permission by a teacher’s aide.

“When I realized he got off the bus it was the wrong tooth they had pulled out, it was even worse,” said Grant.

She said she received an email from his fourth-grade teacher saying the loose tooth had been a distraction.

“I just felt so angry and so, ‘Oh my God, how barbaric. What happened to my kid?’, said Grant.

She said she couldn’t imagine the pain Chris was in from having a good molar taken out.

“Oh my god what did they do, did they hold my kid down?” asked Grant. “Did he want them to do this? How could somebody not even medically trained pull a tooth that wasn't even loose out of his mouth?”

Superintendent Dr. Steve Hiersche admitted that pulling teeth is not the aide’s job description.

“That’s certainly not something we have as a protocol or deal with from the standpoint of training,” said Hiersche.

Grant said she has kept her son home from school for a week and demanded that he be put into a different program, to which the school has complied. She is considering filing a criminal complaint alleging assault and abuse on a child.

I read that title as he only had one good tooth. I was gonna say whats the damage.

I am truly just scratching my head over this one! Who in the world would think this is a good idea to pull a child's tooth while at school, without being asked, and even if htey did ask I'd have to say NO! Don't like my own teeth being pulled so I'm really not going to pull someone else teeth.

And saying his loose tooth was a DISTRACTION, really, you hadda go and say that!

If there is something that I, as a teacher DO NOT deal with is teeth.

I don't care if it's my nephew I'm teaching if his ass has a loose tooth, I tell him to NOT show it to me.

All my students could have freaking blinds for teeth & not one of them is gonna get me close enough to show me, Icantellyouthatmuchyessir.
