Man's Body Found Bound, Gagged in Liquor Store Fridge

HAWAIIAN GARDENS, Calif. (KTLA) -- The body of a man found bound and gagged inside the refrigerator of a Hawaiian Gardens liquor store had been shot in the head, officials said.

A man came to the Beer & Wine Market in the 12300 block of Carson Street about 4:45 p.m. and found the front door open and the lights turned off, authorities said.

Inside the store, the doors to the refrigerator were open.

The man called 911, and when investigators arrived on scene, they found the victim inside the cooler.

Sheriff's officials have not identified the victim.

Residents in the area told KTLA the liquor store was open sporadically -- open some days and closed on others.

Residents also said the store's previous owner was killed inside the store 10 years ago.
