Woman Charged With Assault After Spitting Blood On Police Officer And Nurse

BELLEVUE, Ohio – A 27-year-old woman is facing assault charges following an arrest in which police say she spit blood on both an officer and a nurse.

The altercation took place early Thursday morning according to an incident report obtained by Fox 8 News.

Tiffany Pocock, of Bellevue, was taken into custody around 1:45 a.m. after officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute on Southwest Street. When officers arrived they found a male victim with a mark on his left eye. The man said he had been struck by Pocock.

Officers also discovered, according to the report, a minivan with its driver’s side door ajar. In the center console of the vehicle sat a bottle of whiskey, which appeared to the reporting officer to be a third of the way empty.

After a very brief search of the area officers found Pocock, who appeared intoxicated. She was placed her under arrest of OVI, according to the report, and that’s when she began fighting and attempting to injure herself.

After being placed in the back of the vehicle, Pocock began striking her head and face into the glass divider. According to the report, Pocock began screaming about missing an appointment the following day as she continued to slam her head into the glass. Officers provided statements that Pocock slammed her head into the glass until she began bleeding badly.

Officers drove Pocock to Bellevue Hospital to received medical treatment for her injures, and while escorting her to the emergency room, she began spitting blood on an officer and nurse.

Pocock was later transported to the Sandusky County Jail and arraigned later in the day on charges of OVI, driving under suspension and two counts of assault.

Police*responding*to a home on a call of a domestic *dispute early Thursday morning would find a man there with a mark under his eye. Officers would also found a mini van with its driver’s side door ajar and a bottle of whiskey sitting in the center console with a third of it missing.
The missing third*was found nearby, inside an intoxicated Pocock who was placed under arrest for OVI. That’s when she began fighting with officers and attempted to injure herself. An attempt she was quite successful at, judging by her mugshot.
First she started by repeatedly ramming her head into the police car door as she was being helped into it. Then, once inside the car,*she began ranting about missing an appointment later that morning and started banging her face against the patrol car’s safety divider.
She slammed her head against the glass divider until, according to police, she began bleeding heavily and they decided to take a detour to a nearby hospital so they wouldn’t get sued.…
