DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - An apparent domestic fight in Dayton Tuesday night ended with one man in the hospital and a woman in jail.
Police were called by neighbors to 704 Maitland Ave. at 11:30 to find Dorethea Jones, 47, standing in the street with blood on her hands, shirt and face. Inside the house they found 88-year-old Hoyte Gould with a cut on his face and bleeding.
According to officers, each accused the other of starting the fight, one that apparently involved a beating with a rifle butt.
Jones said she does not live at the house, but "hangs out there" because Gould is her "sugar daddy". She said they started to argue after another woman arrived. She told police Gould threatened her with a rifle, telling her he could kill her and never do a day in jail because he could claim he was senile. She said she "wrestled the gun away like Chuck Norris" and hit him to get away.
Gould said the fight started when Jones refused to leave and he tried to scare he off with the rifle. He said when she walked toward the door, he put the rifle back down and laid down in bed, thinking she was leaving. He said that's when she came back, picked up the rifle and hit him In the face.
Jones was arrested outside the house after she refused to cooperate with police. She was treated at Miami Valley Hospital then taken to the Montgomery County Jail on charges of felonious assault.
Gould was admitted to the hospital.
