One phone call led authorities to an exotic dancer wanted in connection with two shootings. Luerissie Ross, also known as “Pocahontas”, the exotic dancer was arrested Tuesday morning by members of the Gulf Coast Task Force. They received a Crime Stoppers tip telling them where to find her. Ross had been wanted by authorities for the shooting of two men.

Court documents indicated that she befriended two men, led them to an isolated area and had them shot. One of the men died as a result of his gun shot wounds. The most recent case happened on February 17 in the 2300 block of Tidwell; Budrohoe Briscoe was the victim. Briscoe had picked up a relative at the airport and told him they were going to meet a friend named Pocahontas.

When they got to her apartment on Tidwell, Pocahontas asked Briscoe to meet her in the courtyard. The cousin waited in the car, as he saw two men approach Briscoe and shoot him three times. Briscoe was rushed to the hospital, later died from his injuries. He left behind seven daughters. A family member of Briscoe supplied police with a picture of Ross as well as where she worked as an exotic dancer.

Detectives checked a database that matched Ross to a similar case last December 30. In that case, the victim was Carlton Donnato. According to Donnato, he told police that Ross and her boyfriend came to his house on Hollister and robbed him. Donnato said the boyfriend, Kevin Nelson, shot him before Ross and her boyfriend fled.

Authorities believe that Ross is linked to other crimes and they are asking that those that have been victimized by Ross or anyone linked to her come forward.

The lyrics of "Colors of the Wind" -- so inspiring to eight-year-old girls everywhere -- probably were not written with Luerissie Ross in mind.

She's a stripper who goes by the name of Pocahontas -- for all those dudes into John Smith roleplay -- and has been charged with murder in a February killing where she lured a man into an apartment-complex courtyard where he was robbed and shot by two men. She's charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery for the killing of Budrohoe Briscoe.

Ignored danger signs:

1. Pocahontas told them to pick her up at an apartment-complex Dumpster. Romantic.

2. As they drove away, Pocahontas made a phone call where she was heard to say, "Yes, there are two of them."

3. She then said she had to return to the apartment "to pick up her phone charger."

4. As they returned, the friend noticed "a white Lincoln parked in the back of the complex, possibly with two males inside who were crouched down in the vehicle."

5. Pocahontas gets out, then calls Briscoe to come to her in the (dark) courtyard.

Things went as might be expected: Two males jumped out, tried to rob Briscoe and ended up shooting him several times.

Ross admitted she'd lured Briscoe with the intent of having the men rob him, court documents said. She ran away as the shots were fired and was eventually traced by the the Gulf Coast Task Force to Katy, where she was arrested.

The investigation was helped by the fact the victim had cell-phone photos of Pocahontas, which we're sure were very demure.

I think Luerissie is a beautiful name when pronounced, looks pretty good in writing too, Budrohoe I imagine is a variation of Boudreax or Boudreau, I just love Louisiana names. I also wondered, since when did Pocahantas meet up with a bleach bottle? Kind of sad to me this pretty young girl is either being manipulated by a boyfriend or is just a rotten apple, maybe she doesnt realize she could do much, much better. Low self esteem can lead to a lifetime of destruction.
