Baby In Middle Of Street Leads To Discovery Of Dead Man

Police in Worcester, Mass. are investigating a bizarre and brutal scene. Officers discovered three victims, after finding a 6-month-old baby in a car seat in the middle of the road.

The incident happened on Lovell Street, shortly before midnight on Saturday night.

A person driving by noticed a car seat in the road, and noticed an infant sitting in the seat. That's when he called police.

The baby appeared to be unharmed, and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

As police searched the area, knocking on doors on the street, they heard sounds of a person in distress inside an apartment.

Police forced their way inside the apartment, where they found two women and one man lying on the floor.

The man was unresponsive, and was later declared dead.

    The women were injured.

A pit bull was also found in the apartment, and was taken away for a Worcester Police animal control officer.

Officers found the deceased man on the floor of the apartment. An injured woman was nearby. Another injured woman was found elsewhere in the apartment. Both are hospitalized with critical injuries, according to investigators.

The Telegram & Gazette has learned that some of the victims were bound and gagged. Police are not discussing the circumstances in which the victims were found.

I thought for sure they were going to find a wreck, not some folks in a house. WTF happened?

Not to make light of the death of the man or the injuries to the women, but thank god the baby was okay. I had a horrible image in my head while reading the title.

The male victim was identified as 32-year-old Javier Maldonado.

The women's names were not released but police say they are 36 and 18 and have life-threatening injuries.

Maldonado and the older woman were a couple. The 18-year-old woman is the mother of the baby found in the street. She is related to one of the other victims.

    The pitbull did it.

It was too full from the others so decided to try & see if someone else would kill it, hence why they found the baby on the road. It pushed it there.

Police tonight identified the man tonight as Javier Maldonado, 32, of 326 Lovell St. and said the exact cause of death was unknown and an autopsy was scheduled for tomorrow.

Both women -- one 36 years old and the other 18 years old -- were in critical condition tonight, police said. Mr. Maldonado and the 36-year-old were a couple, according to police.

The 18-year-old is the mother of the baby found in the street, according to police, and she is related to Mr. Maldonado or the other woman.

Mr. Maldonado died from injuries inflicted in an attack, police said. All three victims lived on the first floor.

“Based on our preliminary investigation, we do not believe this is a random act,” Police Chief Gary J. Gemme said.

Police would not discuss any details of what caused the injuries. The fatal injury to Mr. Maldonado was also not disclosed.
    [...]

One woman, who did not want to be identified, said a man lived on the first floor, while the other two floors of the three-story building were unoccupied. She said cars pulled up to the home frequently.

Another neighbor called the home “trouble” and said she stayed away. Many other residents, however, said the building was relatively quiet over the past several months. They didn't really know the people inside. One woman said the residents kept to themselves.

Well, the pitbull the guy got for protection obviously failed in his/her duties. Normally they're eating babies and old people, so why can't they eat the 'bad' people? (Please don't jump me about being a pit bull hater, that was simply a snide remark regarding Morbid and his twisted sense of humor in posting FP articles about pitbulls just to stir the shit bucket).

In all seriousness, sounds like drugs. If so, hopefully mom recovers and decides to turn her life around and cut all ties with drug dealing family members. I'm glad they didn't harm the baby.
