Boy With Cerebral Palsy Walks to Marine Father for First Time

Happy Story After A Shitty Day, This Reduced Me To Tears,Get Your Kleenex
CAMP LEJEUNE, NC -- A U.S. Marine received the welcome home of a lifetime when he returned from Afghanistan to find that his son, who suffers from cerebral palsy, had learned to walk.

When Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney was deployed, 6-year-old Michael could not walk.

What he didn’t know was that the boy learned to walk while his father was serving in Afghanistan.

What a wonderful story. I just saw the family interviewed on TV. Michael is one of 5 kids. The whole family kept the secret from Dad that Michael could walk during the many times they talked and video chatted with him. Teachers recently informed the parents that Michael can also read. Things are looking good for Michael and his family! They are all so lucky to have each other.

    Happy Mother's Day

My mother's day wish is for all special needs children to have such a great family, I know it's futile but it makes me feel a little better this rainy morning.
