    Hermantown unidentified remains

Remains found on April 16, 1976.

Time of death: believed to be between 1966 and 1972, but could go as far back as 1961.

Physical details: White male, approximately 30-50 years of age at the time of death, 5'3" to 5'11" tall, advanced osteoarthritis, developmental defect noted suggests the man walked with a limp favoring his right side, which may be attributed to a childhood disease, upper and lower dentures, upper teeth porcelain, lower teeth plastic.

Items found on/ near the body:
Leather work boots, wool trousers, "Mackinaw" type wool hat, long winter underwear, "Blizzard" Railroad type cap with fur-lined earflaps, suspenders, knee-length wool socks, leather chopper-type mittens with green wool liners, possible sweater.

Also located was a cigarette lighter with letters on the base of A.T.C. and LUX Japan, as well as several coins with the most recent mint date of 1961.

This makes me very, very sad. Didn't anyone miss him?

The remains were found 35 yrs ago but we're hearing about it now?

He was 30-50, had a limp & dentures, wore work boots. Seems to me it's safe to assume he was a drifter? Worked hard his whole life, may or may not have put down roots kind of guy? He may not have been in touch with family if that's the case.

I wonder if they can tell when the clothing was manufactured.

That cigarette lighter, - would that have been an unusual item? I daresay they have already looked into who might them?

    Just revisited this:

Items found on/ near the body:
Leather work boots, wool trousers, "Mackinaw" type wool hat, long winter underwear, "Blizzard" Railroad type cap with fur-lined earflaps, suspenders, knee-length wool socks, leather chopper-type mittens with green wool liners, possible sweater.
Judging from the clothing, he must have disappeared in winter, whoever he was...... There don't seem to have been any updates.
