Jason Ripley
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Arkansas authorities say a woman who was allegedly held against her will and tortured before escaping went with her alleged assailant willingly and was not forcibly abducted, as she initially reported.

Garland County sheriff's department spokesman Lt. James Martin said Wednesday that the woman initially told investigators a man abducted her Thursday from a friend's home and held her against her will until she escaped Saturday.

But Martin says she later told investigators she went there willingly and that the man wouldn't let her leave on Saturday.

Martin says investigators believe Jason Ripley beat the woman and burned her with a torch and cigarettes.

Ripley was arrested at an eastern Tennessee motel early Wednesday on preliminary charges of kidnapping and first-degree battery

Sabrina Morton tells a local Arkansas station about the kidnapping and torture allegedly carried out by Jason Ripley

GARLAND COUNTY, AR - Early Wednesday morning, police arrested Jason Ripley and Samantha Wright at a motel in Sevierville, Tennessee in connection with a kidnapping reported over the weekend.

"The investigators have been up and on this for days now around the clock," said Lt. James Martin with the Garland County Sheriff's Department.

Wright is charged with possession of a controlled substance and will also be charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Ripley faces kidnapping and first degree battery charges after police say he tied up and beat victim Sabrina Morton in his camper for a day.

"He just went crazy from the drugs he was doing - I don't know," said Morton.

Investigators believe Morton may have been drugged, herself, explaining why her initial story of being tied up for two days is now changing.

"Thursday and Friday she was not being held against her will. At some point, Saturday, there was an altercation. That's when she was bound and the things that happened began," said Lt. Martin.

Lt. Martin isn't sure of when Wright and Ripley will be returned to Arkansas adding when police in Tennessee arrested then at the motel, they found meth, cocaine and cash so even more charges could still be pending.
