Joliet, IL - A man was arrested after police say he attempted to sell at stolen laptop at the place of employment of the laptop’s owner.
Demetrius O. Nabors, 18, and an accomplice reportedly entered a Joliet liquor store, United Liquors, offering to sell a laptop computer to the employees. One of the workers recognized the laptop as being similar to one owned by a co-worker who wasn’t scheduled to work that night. That worker gave her co-worker a call.
The co-worker – who was not at home – reportedly returned to her apartment to find that it had been burglarized. She then called Joliet police to report the burglary and to inform them that she knew the location of the perpetrators.
According to reports, before police could respond, one of the men fled. Employees were able to hold Nabors until officers showed up.
The burglary victim was able to identify the laptop as hers. Police said that officers found electronics and videogames inside Nabors’ car that had been taken during the burglary.
Nabors, of Joliet, was charged with of residential burglary and possession of stolen property. His picture is from a November arrest for trespassing and drug-related charges.…
