It happened around 3 a.m. at the Ralph Regula Federal Building and United States Courthouse at 301 McKinley Avenue SW.
Canton Police Sgt. John Bosley said Christopher S. McCormick, of North Canton, somehow got past the security gate and struck the building.
Police soon apprehended McCormick and took him to Aultman Hospital for evaluation.
He was then booked into the Stark County Jail on a felony vandalism charge, along with an unrelated criminal trespassing warrant from 2011.
McCormick will remain in custody on a $25,000 bond

Canton Police say 26-year-old Christopher S. McCormick was arrested near the scene and booked into the Stark County Jail on a felony vandalism charge. According to Stark County court records, McCormick was also charged with an unrelated criminal trespassing warrant.
Canton police and firefighters say McCormick drove his Dodge Stratus into the southwest corner of the Ralph Regula Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse at 301 McKinley Ave. SW around 3:06 a.m. Saturday. Reports said he then took off his clothes and ran around the area.
Police arrested McCormick and took him to Aultman Hospital for an evaluation.
