"He walked in and he had on a hoodie on, and he had gloves on, and he locked the door and then he comes at me and grabs my neck," says Keasha Conner, the clerk and manager at the business.
She says the man grabbed a bag of money and headed out of the door towards the back parking lot, and she went toward the street to flag down help. Police say Conner received minor injuries from the robbery and was treated at the scene.
Before police even got there, 39-year-old Dermott Lattin collapsed a few feet away from what police are calling his get- away car and collapsed.
"He made it out the front door of the business, rounded the building and made it to the back parking lot, approximately 20 yards," says Detective Jay Jackson with the Shreveport Police Department.
Keasha Conner was working at the A-1 Quick Cash Payday Loans at the time of the robbery.
