http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...cleansing.htmlA man charged in April with raping a woman in a Santa Ana motel room under the pretense of performing a "spiritual cleansing" involving raw eggs has been charged with sexually assaulting a second woman using the same ruse.
Alberto Flores Ramirez, 36, allegedly met his first victim on an online dating site and lured her to the Aloha Motel by telling her he could help bring her children to California from Mexico.
The victim told authorities that the man said he would perform "a spiritual cleansing on her to get rid of her negative vibes," according to the Orange County district attorney's office.
Ramirez is accused of rubbing raw eggs on the victim's body and fondling her and then sexually assaulting her. A second victim came forward after seeing reports of the first case on a Spanish-language television station, authorities said Friday.
The second women allegedly told investigators that she also was lured by promises of a "spiritual cleansing" and met the suspect at the same Santa Ana motel in February.
Ramirez, authorities said, poured ammonia on the second victim's head while she was lying on the bed, causing her to become dizzy and disoriented. He then raped her, they said.
"It's really strange and it's really unfortunate because he seems like he's preying on women that have had bad luck with men in the past or emotional issues in their lives," Deputy Dist. Atty. Whitney Bokosky said.
"They think he's going to help them," the prosecutor added.

From April 11:
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?se...nty&id=8617685The woman is in the U.S. on a tourist visa visiting her son, who studies here. She has two daughters in Mexico being cared for by their father. She wanted to bring her family together, so she turned to someone she thought was a "spiritual healer" for help.
Police allege Alberto Ramirez, 36, met the 33-year-old victim through an online social website. The Simi Valley woman only wants to be identified as "Karina" for her safety.
"He tells me he has experience," said Karina through an interpreter.
Karina alleges Ramirez passed himself off as a "spiritual healer," who encouraged her to undergo a cleansing to help bring her good fortune. She wanted her two daughters who live in Mexico to join her in California.
Karina and Ramirez met for dinner. Then Ramirez took her to a Santa Ana motel, claiming he needed a quiet place to perform the ritual.
The spiritual healing involves the healer using an egg to cure physical or spiritual illnesses.
After the procedure, Karina says Ramirez broke the egg and read a message.
"He broke the eggs and two glasses for the water, and he tells me it's bad. 'You have bad energy.' He tell me you need another cleaning but the second time, you need to take off your clothes," said Karina.
Karina alleges she reluctantly removed her clothes and was then attacked.
Karina says Ramirez choked her, raped her and threatened to kill her. She gave up fighting in order to survive, then went to police.
