A suburban Lake Worth man, who could no longer take the early-morning crowing of his neighbor's roosters, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly shooting the birds dead.

On Wednesday, a judge ordered 31-year-old Cedric Leonard Livingston held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $12,000 bail. He is facing charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in public and two counts of animal cruelty.

The owner of the roosters, Ubencelado Maldonado, reported that during the "early morning hours" of that day, his neighbor walked into their duplex's backyard and shot the two roosters, according to the arrest report.

Maldonado then added that two weeks before the April 9 shooting, Livingston killed two of his other roosters.

He said that during that incident, Livingston began pounding on Maldonado's door, "yelling about the roosters crowing." When Maldonado didn't answer because he was "scared," Livingston allegedly killed the birds with a hammer and then "cut their throats" as Maldonado and his family "watched in horror," the report said.

Fowl-less, Maldonado purchased two more.

But on April 9, Maldonado said he saw Livingston fire "approximately five shots from a chrome gun" at the new roosters.

Who would want two roosters, especially in the city? That's some loud shit! lol
One Rooster will take care of a lot of hens. The only time I could see wanting more than one is to protect them if you have a predator problem. In fact I lost a rooster and had to get one to protect the hens. I had people begging me to take theirs.

In a duplex situation, if a guy had two roosters and refused to get rid of both of them, They would sure disappear, so I don't blame this guy, but you have to do it quick and humanly.
Discharging a firearm in the city is asinine. That pretty much leaves cutting their heads off.

Long short, All I see this guy doing wrong was discharging a firearm, using a hammer and doing it in front of the family. They should have quietly disappeared..
