2yo Ka-mya Robinson Caught In The Crossfire While Playing

Ka-mya Denise Robinson, 2, was shot around 7 p.m. as she played in front of a home near the intersection of South Robinson Street and Virginia Avenue.

The girl's father scooped her up and flagged down a Kern County deputy in the 1300 block of Virginia Avenue. The sheriff's deputy called for medical aid, and the girl was taken by ambulance to Kern Medical Center, said sheriff's Lt. Adam Plugge.

Police confirmed shortly after 10 p.m. that Ka-mya died from her injuries.

There was an argument between two groups of men in front of 1244 S. Robinson St. One of the groups was in an SUV, with the other group on the street, according to police Lt. Joe Mullins. The argument escalated, and shots were fired from the SUV.

The blue SUV was described as a Lincoln Navigator. A small caliber shell casing was recovered by investigators.

Witnesses said the shooter was the right front passenger in the SUV. He was reportedly waiving a black handgun out the window prior to the shooting.

Police assumed the investigation because South Robinson Street falls within city jurisdiction.

Anyone with information on the names or whereabouts of any of the people responsible is asked to call Detective James Moore at (661) 326-3540 or the Secret Witness hotline at 322-4040.

Fucking assholes. You wanna run around like a bad ass waving pistols at each other, whatever. But learn to hit your fucking target so innocent babies don't get killed. It's of no concern to me, when people who willingly live that life get shot and killed. You made your choices. But, all to often, it's not the ignorant asshats who are getting shot. It's the little girl playing in her front yard. Learn to aim assholes, that's all I ask, learn to fucking aim!
This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.

It sounds like her dad was outside with her? Maybe he wasn't and only came outside after he heard gun shots (wait the child is 2 somebody had better have been outside with her) Didn't the dad notice the arguement and the passenger (who must have been facing his home) waiving a gun around? I guess if that is normal where they live he probably was not too concerned. Me personally I would have taken my kids inside if something like that broke out in front of my house (prior to shots being fired....anyone waving a gun is my signal to leave)

I feel so sad this little girl lost her life because of some idiot trying to be tough.
