That’s the Brice Moss people saw right up until he went missing.

"Can you imagine, your only son, with the expectation he was suppose to graduate from the University of Michigan, just vanishes off the Earth? We are torn,” said Moss’s God father, Ray Paige.
Ann Arbor police have been searching for 21-year-old Brice Moss, a senior at Michigan, since Saturday afternoon. Moss’s family reported him missing after coming to Ann Arbor for the commencement ceremony.

“Our detectives are actively working on it and we’re hopeful and optimistic that the case will be resolved,” said Lt. Renee Bush.

However, according to university spokesman Rick Fitzgerald, the school reports there was no record of Moss graduating on Saturday. Moss’s name is not found in the 2012 spring commencement program.

Fitzgerald added that Moss was enrolled in classes at the university from summer 2008 until winter 2011 but has not been enrolled at since April 19, 2011.

“We are worried, we were looking at some of the top colleges for law school, we are shocked he did something like this," said Paige, a Detroit attorney.

The search for the 21-year-old student has flooded social media sites. Friends of Moss started a Facebook group titled “Help Find Our Friend Brice Moss” which currently has more than 1,000 likes.

“We need the community to be our eyes and ears,” Bush said. “The use of social media is a huge opportunity for us to locate him.”

According to police, Moss, who lives in the 1000 block of Vaughn Street, was reportedly last seen at 2:40 a.m. Saturday in Ann Arbor. But his car, a tan 1999 Lincoln Town Car, was seen at 12:30 a.m. Sunday parked outside a friend’s house on Ann Street, a few hours after police had met with his friends and roommates trying to find him.
One of Moss’s roommates, who didn’t want to be identified, told Local 4 Moss had two sides to him and his five roommates knew he wasn’t taking any classes. But he says he is still shocked Moss is missing.

While his location is still unknown, police said that Moss has friends at Tulane University, Michigan State University, Eastern Michigan University and Central Michigan University and they are checking with those schools for his whereabouts.

I remember watching Dateline or Cold Case Files a couple years ago and a guy named Dana (thats all I can remember) and his 2 buddys murdered his dad,mom and sister b/c it was coming time for graduation and he wasnt even in university
So they ambushed them after they came in one night and killed them
1)because he wasnt graduating
2) because they were millionaires and he wouldve gotten it all if they hadnt figured it out down the road

What this kid in Detroit did is stupid but I think hes going to feel worse having it all over the media

On that note, not all parents pay their kids way. We didn't for any of our 6 (5 of which did go to college) and no parents paid either hubby's or my way (or of our siblings). Maybe this guy's parents were just proud of him for doing it on his own and he wasn't...

we didnt pay much out of pocket either for the fact my grandmother was a teacher for 35 years and left all the kids university money
7 of them she set up in trust for them then a shitload to her church

The trust would have noticed that the money wasn't paid out. Although, they probably wouldn't have told you if it wasn't.

Our philosophy has to do more with studies that show kids do better in college when it's THEIR money that's being spent (and our own poverty at the time). Sure, many kids do just fine on parent's dime in college but they do better when they are the ones that have to earn/pay for it. Several of my nieces & nephews pay for their college up front. Their parent's reimburse them based on grades at the end of each semester. A 4.0 gets 100% down to a 2.0 that gets %50... anything less gets zero. That is a great way and would have been what we do if we could have afforded so many kids in college at once.

Who knows how this kid was supposed to pay for his education. Obviously it wasn't something that involved his family... or it it did, he went really far in the trickery.

I can't imagine living with the stress that such a lie creates. I tend not to lie because I have trouble remembering the truth of certain matters, much less a lie I would tell about it, and because I don't like being lied to.

I really hope he is physically alright. I think it's safe to say he's not emtionally or mentally alright, but I hope he gets that way.

Six days after he was reported missing, there’s finally some good news regarding the disappearance of former University of Michigan student Brice Moss: Police believe he is alive.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush couldn’t confirm how investigators have come to that conclusion, because the case is still open, but all indications are that Moss left of his own free will.
“The investigation leads led us to believe he’s alive,” she said. “It appears at this time he voluntarily left and he is still considered missing.”
Moss's disappearance was reported to police Saturday after his mother came to Ann Arbor and expected him to graduate. Moss never showed up, and his mother told police she believed he was in danger.
He was last seen by his friend and roommate at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, and his tan 1999 Lincoln Town Car was last seen parked near a friend’s home on Ann Street at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Although his mother expected him to graduate Saturday, Moss hasn’t been enrolled at U-M since April 2011, university officials said.
Ever since Moss was reported missing, friends and family members have been expressing their sadness at his disappearance on various social media platforms. A Facebook page titled “Help Find Our Friend Brice Moss” had nearly 1,800 likes as of 9:25 a.m. Friday.
Bush said that outpouring of support might encourage Moss to reach out to someone.
“We’re still hopeful he will reach out to a friend or family member and let them know he’s OK,” she said.
Bush couldn’t confirm a report in The Michigan Daily Wednesday that Moss had been seen on U-M’s North Campus. She said detectives are still investigating the case and, even though it’s believed Moss is alive, the search will not stop until his location is confirmed.
