Just saw the video on the Tosh blog and had to rush over here to see the reactions. I... it's so horrible. It's SO. HORRIBLE.

I had a spray tan last week because I was as close to pure white as you can get without being an albino. I was so afraid I would turn orange. If I had seen this video before that, I would have just embraced my paleness. I didn't know there was a worse fate than orange. (I turned out fine, though. Just tan enough that I looked like I have heard of the sun before, but not so tan that I look like an Oompa-Loompa or... this.)

She's 44?!?! Just for comparison - I'll be 44 in a couple of months. My profile pic was taken last summer. I'm so white I glow in the dark. The only color I have is from freckles. My husband and I are both Irish so white w/ freckles is how we roll. She has to have some brain damage from the tanning beds. That's the only thing I can come up with as to how she thinks that is a good look. The word "naugahyde" comes to mind. I desperately want to smother her with moisturizer.

Krentcil, whose own deep tan makes the "Jersey Shore" crew look ghostly, was arrested and charged with child endangerment.

"It’s a lie," Krentcil said today before stepping into a Newark courtroom crowded with reporters and news cameras, where she pleaded not guilty to the second-degree charge.

Krentcil, 44, has worked her fake bake over many years, and acknowledged tanning to excess.

"I love to tan, as you can see. I’ve gone tanning my whole life," she said.

Patricia Krentcil, from the aptly named town of Nutley, gets blasted with ultraviolet rays up to 20 times a month — and apparently hasn’t stopped since her arrest.

Tanorexic “Jersey Shore” star Nicole Polizzi delivered her own verdict on the disturbing case: Face dismissed.

“That b---h is crazy! . . . you are not supposed to take kids there,” Snooki told “Extra.”

Krentcil, 44, is accused of bringing her daughter Anna into a tanning booth, but she denies exposing the fair-skinned girl to the dangerous rays.

“It’s all made up. I’m not dumb,” she said.

Her husband, Rich Krentcil, 47, admitted his wife has been obsessively visiting tanning booths since she was in her early 20s.

“She just likes it,” he said. “She’s not a crazy maniac where she has to tan every day.”

Krentcil, who works as a trader in Jersey City, said his wife came out looking even browner than usual in a TV interview Tuesday. He also said the housewife would never hurt her child.

“They’re making her out to be a monster,” he said, calling the whole thing a big misunderstanding.

She declared that her unnatural and unnerving dark tan was simply the result of regular visits to tanning salons.

But the owner of one of her tanning haunts said Krentcil’s strange skin shades were not created in his establishment.

“I don’t know what color that is,” said the manager at Nutley’s City Tropics Tanning Salon, adding that Krentcil’s last visit was April 22 — two days before her arrest.

“She’s self-coloring, maybe with something you sponge on,” he said. “Nobody looks like that from tanning.”

The manager was adamant that she never brought her red-headed kindergartner into a tanning booth.

Late Wednesday, CBS 2 reported that the owners of City Tropics, where Krentcil had a 12-minute session every other day, banned her from the salon and revoked her membership.

I'm fairly certain she's addicted to tanning, and I'm also pretty certain that she didn't actually allow her child to get into a tanning bed. Her daughter may be feeling some pressure to be "just like Mommy," though, which is why she may have said that her mother took her tanning.

And yeah, a part of me dislikes her because she's been frying herself for 20+ years and hasn't suffered any consequences other than looking at least twice her age and getting in trouble over her daughter saying that her mother took her tanning, yet my late Syrian-American uncle had naturally fairly dark skin and was exposed to the sun from time to time and used sunscreen intermittently, but he suffered for over ten years and finally succumbed to the aggressive melanoma on his thigh that metastasized to his bones and brain in spite of intense chemotherapy. He changed from a robust, muscular, hairy man to a pale, hairless wraith. It doesn't seem right somehow, but I suppose that's just my residual grief talking.

Yeah, I feel for her. She likely has a body dysmorphic disorder. It also pisses me off that some child can be outside playing for a day, be diagnosed with malignant melanoma and died six months later...but a stupid cunt like this can tan for decades and be as fit as a fiddle. No justice.

As mentioned previously in the thread, tanned skin was once frowned upon. I still believe in that! I'm pale!

After watching that video on TMZ, I'm convinced she is an addict of many things. She talked and shuffled around like the homeless lady I see whenever I go downtown. I think her husband is co-dependent. My husband wouldn't stand for me tanning when pregnant or allow me to take the kids in with me if I went tanning. Her husband, on the other hand, just makes excuses for her.
