A Cameron County teenager is behind bars after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 12-year-old girl.
Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 17-year-old Griselda Herrera last week.
The Laureles area teenager is accused of harboring a runaway, enticing a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Court records show the accusations came to light when the 12-year-old girl ran away from her home near the rural community of Lago.
The 12-year-old girl’s family got her back home back on April 9th but found hickies on her neck.
The girl told family members that she and Herrera were girlfriends.

When confronted by the 12-year-old girl’s family, Herrera allegedly paused and then replied, “I love her.”
Deputies arrested Herrera last Tuesday.
The 17-year-old suspect remains in custody under $120,000 dollars in bonds

A 17-year-old Valley woman has been arrested for harboring a runaway, enticing a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Griselda Herrera was arrested after the 12-year-old girl who she kept at her place returned to her family home, valleycentral.com reports. The family noticed hickeys on the girl's neck and, when they asked her about them, she allegedly told them she had gotten them from Herrera and the two were "girlfriends."

yes she was wrong in helping her but if she wouldnt have her grilfreind would of been out in the streets at 12 in the morning!

I can't believe her friends ( other teens I'm assuming ) are okay with this . It is only five years , but those ages are so different .
