Teens Mark Sewell & Jaquelyn Martin Accused Of Trying To Abduct A 10-year-old

Mark Christopher Sewell, 18, of 318 Stonewall Drive, and Jaquelyn Crystal Martin, 16, of 5817 Marshview Drive, were charged with felonious restraint and misdemeanor stalking.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two teens in New Hanover County are facing charges after attempting to abduct a 10-year-old child.

According to the sheriff's office, the 10-year-old was walking home from Pine Valley Elementary School this week when the teenagers started following the victim in their car yelling questions out the window like, "What's your name? What's your address?" and "Hey, kid, you want some candy?"

The sheriff's office said the victim ran into the woods and hid until they felt safe to run home.

After several interviews, deputies arrested Mark Christopher Sewell and Jaquelyn Crystal Martin in the attempted abduction. They are both facing charges of attempted felonious restraint and misdemeanor stalking.

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office has charged two teenagers in connection with what they contend is an attempted abduction this week.

The arrest warrants state the defendants "knew or should have known that the harassment or the course of conduct would cause a reasonable person to fear for that person's safety and suffer substantial emotional distress by placing that person in fear of death, bodily injury or continued harassment."
Sewell and Martin were released Friday on $10,000 unsecured bonds.
Detectives are still investigating, said Deputy J.L. Augst, an assistant public information officer.

wtf? I wonder if these two were paid to look for a kid for some perv fucker. Of course the perv's are getting younger and younger. Damn fucked up. Glad the kid got out of their sight.

Sounds to me like they were gonna do something to that kid... that BOY wanted the little boy for something.

I AM GLAD THEY ARE CAUGHT & watch out cause next time, they'll get it right & they'll be someone dead.

I wonder if they just thought it would be funny to scare some kid - for shits n' giggles. If I was that kid I would've been scared to death! Teens or not - the line was crossed & that kids fight or flight reflex is in great working order.

That was the first thought that came to my mind. They were probably just fucking around and ended up getting themselves into a shit ton of trouble. If they were honestly trying to kidnap him they wouldn't have used an obvious line like "hey kid want some candy".
