Maryland man charged with 1991 murder of wife, remains found in floorboards

An Elkridge, Md. man was charged with the 1991 murder of his wife, Howard County Police said Thursday, after her remains were found under the floorboards of a shed near his current wife's home.
Police arrested Robert Arnold Jarrett, 57, with murder of murder of his wife, Christine Jarrett, 21 years ago.

Jarrett is being held on first and second-degree murder charges with no bond. He reported his wife missing on Jan. 5, 1991 and told police she had walked away from their home after an argument.

She was never seen or heard from again. Police suspected foul play, but did not have evidence to prove anything at the time, police reported.

On Wednesday, Howard County detectives visited the home where Jarrett's current wife, from whom he is now separated, still lives. Following a search of the house, as permitted by Jarrett’s current wife, police found the remains of a woman believed to be Christine Jarrett under the floorboards of a shed. The remains were buried in concrete, police said.

Personal items located with the body indicate it is likely Jarrett, police said, adding that the remains will be analyzed by the medical examiner.

Who would know? I am inclined to think not..............but maybe she was just in denial. Even smart women are sometimes so naive about men. I have a young neighbour (young is relative), who is on the internet dating scene and every single man she has chatted to or met has had a bitch of a wife or partner, who were either mad or cheated on them. Every single one. And she believes this implicitly.
I have suggested that it really isn't within the laws of probability that every single one of them is the victim of some demon woman, but she won't have it. Even when they turn out to be violent or just plain dickheads.

She is a very attractive, educated woman but she is such a sucker for flattery, even when it is blatent flattery, that I wonder if she has a self esteem problem. You would never guess if she did have. She is extremely confident and sometimes I think a little too full of herself.

She puzzles me.

Not necessarily. Maybe it was his house and he moved the new wife into it. Then fifteen to twenty years later when that marriage breaks down, he abandons the house to her, hoping noone will ever distrurb the concrete in the foundations of the shed........

Maybe she'd like to hook up with my ex husband who is on his 4th wife who he managed to hook with the tragic story about how all 3 of his other ex wives cheated on him and claimed he was abusive and continually try and keep his kids from him. Yeah, she'd probably totally dig him. After he reproduces with #4 a few times and she wises up and divorces his ass, I'll hook your neighbor up with him. (I was #2 by the way, he was married to #1 for 6 months when he was 19 and he didn't have children with her.).

Can you believe it? Although I know femminism is a dirty word in the US, really there should be more of it. What makes these women of great worth, fall for the first fellow they hear say ' Oh you are different'. What is it about we women that we take these men on their recommendation.

My neighbour (I speak and spell British English), has told me over and over, that these men cant believe that they have met her, because she is so different to their mad wives or lunatic exes. She boasts that she is so laid back and relaxed. Well, of course she is no different to their rejected spouses, eventually.

She too objects when they want to fool around with other women, when they decide that they don't need to go to work anymore, when they just want to sit at home and consume ten bongs a day, when they decide that her eleven year old has got a big mouth and needs it smacked.
But she doesn't think that there is any thing wrong with her judgement.
