When a man arriving in Fort Lauderdale on a flight from Haiti was found in possession of illegal tax returns, authorities said he tried to eat them.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported that U.S. customs officials found an envelope on Saint Juste on Sunday. He refused to hand over the envelope, then stuffed the contents -- tax return checks bearing the names of fraud victims -- into his mouth.

An affidavit said Saint Juste told authorities that someone in Haiti gave him the checks to take to someone in South Florida.
