DES MOINES, Iowa -
Des Moines police said nine children have been removed from their home after charges ere filed against their parents.
Police said a 15-year-old runaway's case last October lead to an investigation that continues today.
In November, James Beaudrie was charged with assault causing injury of his teenage daughter.
The daughter again ran away from home on Jan. 30, police said.
All nine of James and Kijua Beaudrie's children were placed in shelters or foster homes pending the investigation, police said.
On Monday, detectives arrested Kijua Beaudrie on charges of three counts of neglect of a dependent child. Kijua Beaudrie was transported to the Polk County Jail.
Detectives said they have been unable to find James Beaudrie and believe he fled the state. His van was found Salt Lake City.
Police said he is wanted on eight counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
They are asking for the public's help in finding James Beaudrie. He is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 350 to 400 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
