Three people were arrested in connection with the kidnapping and burning of a woman in east Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Anita Pena, 37, Thomas Martin, 27, and Garrick Hastings, 25, were arrested on Wednesday. Hastings and Martin were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and Pena was charged with aggravated assault.

Investigators said the three kidnapped a woman last month from a motel and took her to a vacant home in east Harris County, where she was bound, beaten and set on fire.
The victim, whose name was withheld for her safety, is being treated at an area hospital. Her condition was not released.

The victim was abducted from an east Harris County motel on March 31, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department.
She was taken to a vacant home in east Harris County where she was bound, beaten and set on fire. The suspects left her for dead.
The woman survived and managed to get to a house next door to get help. She was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital with severe burns over 80 percent of her body. She was put into a medical-induced coma while doctors treated the burns, severe head lacerations and broken bones.
Garrick Hastings, 25, and Thomas Martin, 37 were arrested this week and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Anita Pena, 37, is charged with aggravated kidnapping in the case.
According to court documents, the woman and her boyfriend lived with Hastings, who’s known by the name "Joker."
A relative said the victim owed "Joker" money for drugs and investigators believe that was the motive for the attack.
Hastings had recently served time in prison for robbery.

Wow i would have never expected her to do something like that.. She is friends with my mother, she goes by Ana and the dude in the middle they call joker. Any ways i never did trust Joker but i really thought that Ana had gotten her act together but i guess people never really change.

Houston, TX – Police have charged three people with abducting a woman, beating her and then setting her on fire.
According to court documents, 25-year-old Garrick “Joker” Hastings told a friend that he had killed a prostitute who had stole $6,000 from him. He claimed he had her kidnapped and taken to an abandoned trailer where he beat her with a metal rod, tied her up and then set her on fire.
Unfortunately, it turns out he wasn’t lying. However, he wasn’t entirely correct. Surprisingly, the woman somehow survived the attack, even though she suffered burns to 80 percent of her body, and had identified her attackers to police.
According to the victim’s aunt, her niece lived with her boyfriend and Hastings, an alleged drug dealer and gang member. She says that shortly after hearing her niece arguing with Hastings about drugs and money, the victim was abducted from a motel and taken to a trailer. She was reportedly held there by 37-year-old Anita Pena until Hastings showed up.
When Hastings arrived he, along with 37-year-old*Thomas Martin, tied her up and beat her with an iron bar before setting her on fire and leaving her for dead. A nearby resident called police after finding the woman when she somehow managed her way out of the trailer, now engulfed in flames, and make it to his front porch.
