There are a few reasons why it's not a good idea to run from or fight with police officers, attempt to out-drive them, or try to reach for a gun while cops are trying to handcuff you.
The photo to the right, of 18-year-old Bobby White, may be one of those reasons.
According to court documents obtained by New Times, police were following up on an incident near 67th Avenue and Osborn Road around 2:30 a.m. Monday when a call came in about a guy with a gun about half a mile away.
When officers saw a car speeding away from the intersection, they followed it until the car ran into a power pole and flipped upside down.
That sparked the foot chase, as police say White started running and reaching into one of his pockets before hopping into someone's backyard.
Police caught White in the front yard of the house, but White managed to shove the officers away and run away again, according to court documents.
Cops caught up to White again, and police say White put himself in a "turle position" (we believe they may have meant "turtle," but we're still unsure of what that actually means), and kept reaching into his pocket, the documents say.
After a "short struggle," police say White was handcuffed, but kept trying to reach into his pocket -- where police ended up finding a handgun, according to the docs.

The documents state White has ties to a gang, and is currently on probation through the juvenile court. Police believe White was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.
White was eventually booked into jail on a felony charge of resisting arrest, and misdemeanor criminal trespassing to hopping into someone's backyard.
Court documents also name 40-year-old Michael Gutierrez as a co-defendant in the case, as he was booked into jail on charges of weapon possession by a prohibited person, unlawful flight from law enforcement, and failing to stay at the scene of an accident, according to jail records.
