Sheriff's office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks tells The Advocate the body was found in a field across the street from the parents' home on La. Highway 64.
She says the baby's father has been detained for questioning by detectives. The boy's mother is in a local hospital.
Hicks said the mother and father got into a domestic dispute Monday. She says the mother was found alone in a yard incoherent around 11 a.m. Monday.
Hicks says officers started their search for the baby around 3 a.m. Tuesday when family members reported the infant was missing.

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's spokeswoman Casey Rayborn says 22-year-old Sabrina Maiden was booked Tuesday after Javion Brown's body was found.
Rayborn says Maiden reportedly ran out Monday morning after fighting with the baby's father, 32-year-old Willie Brown. She was found about two hours later about a quarter of a mile away and taken to a hospital.
Deputies learned early Tuesday the baby was missing.
Brown was booked on a drug and a firearm charge after deputies found two handguns and about 9 ounces of marijuana in the house.

The baby went missing after the mother left the home following a domestic dispute with the child’s father, Willie Brown Jr., Monday morning. According to The Advocate, ”Maiden was found without the child two hours later in the 21500 block of Barsket Road, which is about a fourth of a mile from her home. The woman was still naked and had multiple scratches on her, Hicks said. Maiden was combative toward a nearby resident and was taken to a local hospital.

The 2-month-old baby the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office was looking for in the Zachary area Tuesday morning was found dead in a ditch in a field across the street from his home.
The child, Prince Javeion Deshaun Brown, lived in the 1200 block of East Mt Pleasant Zachary Road.
Casey Hicks with EBRSO said the mother and father got into a fight Monday morning around 8 a.m. The mom, Sabrina Maiden, 22, left the house with the child around 11 a.m., unclothed and on foot.
Hicks says a neighbor found Maiden wandering around in his yard in the 21000 block of Barsket Road, but then she started to beat the neighbor, still unclothed. The baby was not with her.

The Sheriff's Office was notified by the child's father that Maiden had a missing infant at approximately 1:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.

EBRSO says physical evidence on the scene indicated the child was left in an area of shallow water, and evidence indicates that the child was alive at the time he was abandoned.
