WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - Four Rhode Island girls are facing criminal charges following the shocking beating of a 12-year-old girl that was videotaped and posted online.

The disturbing video, originally posted on YouTube and later removed, shows the four-on-one attack that took place last Saturday.

The victim's mother, Holly Gingerella, downloaded the video and took it to police. Following an investigation, officers filed charges against two 12-year-old girls and two 13-year-olds.

"It hurts, it hurts to watch," Gingerella told Eyewitness News, describing the shocking video.

"I was angry. I was upset that I wasn't there. I was hurting for her, I felt her pain, and I just wanted to hold her and take her away and never turn back."

Her daughter was left with bite marks on her body, two black eyes, and swelling in her head.

"She's physically healing," Gingerella said. "I think that emotionally it will take a little bit longer."

Two of the suspects are charged with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, the other two are charged with simple assault and conspiracy.

Gingerella says her daughter has not been back to school since the attack, but she has received cards and flowers from friends showing their support.

She hopes her daughter's case will prevent future senseless attacks against children.

"[....]These kids that they're bulling, these are people's brothers and sisters and grow up to be mothers and fathers and brothers."

I was going to post "who the fuck names their kid 'Gingerella?'" until I read the whole article and realized that's her last name. That's an awesome last name.

What a sad situation. The girl who was bullied may never fully recover emotionally. The teens who did this, should be punished. Community service, be forced to help pay the girl's medical bills. Be put into anger management classes, and about a dozen other disciplinary actions I can think of. This makes me so sad for the girl and her mom. As a mother, I can't say I would've been as composed as she was. My oldest daughter is my heart. If *anyone* had attacked her when she was in middle school or high school, I can't promise I wouldn't have gone after the attackers myself. Why did they feel it was necessary for all 4 of them to gang up on her? Are they too pussified to fight one on one? Prayers for the Gingerella family.

Also, thank God for stupid kids who not only thoughtfully record the evidence of their crime for their future prosecutor(s) ease of conviction, but also make sure Law Enforcement can't possibly miss it by publicly posting it up on Youtube of all places.

Post Four Girls Charged After Beating 12-Year-Old Girl Caught On Camera

WOONSOCKET, R.I. –*We can’t seem to go more than a week without juveniles making the news after getting caught on camera beating the crap out of one of their peers. This time it’s out of Rhode Island where four girls, two 12-year-olds and two 13-year-olds,*have been charged after a tape of them beating a 12-year-old girl was posted online. The victim’s mother, Holly Gingerella, downloaded the video before it was removed from Youtube and took it to police. After their investigation, officers charged all four girls; two with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, two with simple assault and conspiracy. The video shows a 12-year-old girl spending most of her time on the grounding fending off the kicks, hits, bites, and scratches of her attackers. Gingerella says her daughter was friends with the girls and the fight was the result of her daughter saying a boy was cute. She says they lured her there in order to ambush her and then wouldn’t let her leave. She says they threatened to beat her again if she went home and told anyone and pretended to be her daughter when they texted Gingerella asking if she could spend the night with the girls. What concerns Gingerella even more is that these girls knew her daughter*suffers from hydrocephalus and has been through nine surgeries in the last 12 years. She currently has a shunt in her brain to treat the condition. The beating left her daughter suffering from bite marks, two black eyes, and swelling in her head. The mother of one of the girls caught attacking the victim is*appalled*at her daughter’s actions. “When I saw that video, I just lost it. I just can’t believe my daughter could actually do that to somebody. Especially someone that she thought was a friend of hers. Just kept going and hitting and hitting and hitting and hitting after knowing that she had brain surgery,” the mother said. Another mother, or possibly the same one, said her daughter needs professional help. “I love my daughter too, but my daughter needs help,” she said. “My daughter has done this too many times; she needs to be punished for this.” Gingerella says her daughter has not returned to school and isn’t sure when she will go back. “She doesn’t want to go back to school. She is scared. There are still comments being made, calling her a snitchKeep Reading...
