David Pethig Had His Laptop Stolen

Lizzie Pethig, 34, was distraught when a thief stole jewellery, cash and computers from the house she shared with her parents David and Denise Pethig.
But her anguish turned to disgust when the thief tipped off police he had found more than 8500 depraved child porn images on David Pethig's laptop.
Speaking after her father, 59, was given a 12-month suspended jail term, Lizzie Pethig said, "Dad's betrayal has changed my life forever. But part of me is glad that we got burgled."
"That thief had a conscience - which is more than my father had. If he hadn't been found out, he'd probably still be downloading child porn," she added.
Chef Lizzie Pethig and her mom - who was married to David Pethig for 35 years - now have moved into a new home away from her dad.

The thief left David Pethig's laptop in a derelict house before alerting police, and word of the vile porn stash had gone around the local estate.

Factory worker David Pethig claimed he had downloaded just a few images of teenagers. But the truth came out when he appeared at North Wales' Mold Crown Court last November.
There were 8500 images and 400 videos, including some rated at the worst level. As well as his suspended term, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years after admitting 17 charges of making indecent images.
His wife said, "He really should have gone to jail."

The court heard that since the offences came to light Pethig had lost everything. well cry me a fucking river He had lost his job, he had no friends, his family was in turmoil and one had attempted suicide. He also had to move house when his neighbours found out what he had been up to.

The effect of the case on him, together with his immediate guilty pleas, were among the reasons given by Judge Gareth Jones for giving Pethig a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. He was placed on supervision for two years and sent on a sex offender group work programme.

He was also ordered to register with the police as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

The judge also made a 10-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) limiting his use of the internet. He must also pay £500 prosecution costs.

Judge Jones said they were extremely serious offences over a significant period of time, showing “a sustained interest in material of this kind”. The nature of the images involving young children, in some instances very young, showed acts of indecency and degradation.

The judge added: “The reason the law takes such a serious view is that you, and people like you, create a market for the exploitation of children.” 12 months suspended for two years is his idea of taking a 'serious view'?

Pethig had no previous convictions, he had admitted what he had done immediately and the judge said that he was aware of the devastating effect the case had upon the defendant. yeah? what about the devastating effect on the victims? doesn't that count?

Emmalyne Downing, prosecuting, told how in April police received a report of the burglary. They then received the call telling officers where the stole computer would be.

Of the 8,585 still images, 326 were at the worst level, five, and 617 were at level four. A total of 433 movie images were found – 36 were at level five and 290 at four.

When initially interviewed, Pethig claimed to have downloaded them by accident. Re-interviewed when the full extent of the images was known, he said he had done it out of curiosity.

In looking at the nature of the material the Sentencing Council has categorised such material into five levels of seriousness with level five being the most serious.

Level one: Images of erotic posing, with no sexual activity;

Level two: Non-penetrative sexual activities between children, or solo masturbation by a child;

Level three: Non-penetrative sexual activity between adults and children;

Level four: Penetrative sexual activity involving a child or children, or both children and adults;

Level five: Sadism or involving the penetration of, or by, an animal.

Holy Toledo Batman I am speechless at the level 5 offense. Thats just so beyond wrong and foul. Downloaded by accident? Yeah fucking right you fat tub o' lard. Glad his ass is being trated like a pariah amongst those who know him. Its the least of what he deserves. A nice boot up the ass would work better IMO but hey social exile is just as painful looks like. Glad to see he has no tard defenders on his side and his wife and daughter took off once they realized his depravities.

The cat did it! Its part of their evil plan to take over the world. They may look cute but they are truly some devious bastards. He probably was being stingy with the cat nip so this was the cat's way of getting back at him. This will teach him to be more generous next time :p

This is just gross on so many levels.... what they found and the sentence. But - usually when we read about these things happening in the US, the investigators are quick to point out they have either identified the victims or are attempting to identify them. Have they said anything about who these children are and whether or not they have found any of them to be safe now? Does that make sense? Big high five to wife & daughter for high tailing the hell out of that guys life. Blech.


I don't know why I asked if that made sense. it's perfectly worded. I think my head is really foggy and tired and it was all a jumble. But - my nimble fingers can type by themselves while I put my face on and get ready to go to work. No thinking required.
