Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a 75-year-old man on Monday for allegedly punching his 76-year-old neighbor during an argument.
Edward Rotman, of suburban Boca Raton, is facing the charge of battery on a person of 65 years of age or older.
Rotman was arrested at a home in the 21000 block of Cypress Hammock Drive. There, the deputy met with Sheldon Lewis, who said Rotman had attacked him.
Lewis said he was speaking with Rotman's wife earlier at the community swimming pool, when Rotman arrived. Lewis said that he asked Rotman about his plans of "packing up and leaving for Canada."
That's when Rotman allegedly got upset that Lewis was involved "in his business." They got into an argument, and Lewis said he cussed at Rotman.
"Rotman became upset and struck [Lewis] two times," the deputy said in the arrest report.
A neighbor broke up the fight.
