LINTHICUM, Md. (WUSA) -- A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a woman at a home in Linthicum.
Anne Arundel County Police say that officers were called out to a home at approximately 11:23 p.m. Thursday for a domestic-related shooting. There, a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her lower torso indicated that her boyfriend shot her and then fled the home.
Officers searched the area and were able to apprehend David William Wright of Glen Burnie, Md.
Police say evidence and statements from the victim and witnesses revealed that Wright and the woman got in an argument. The argument turned physical, and the woman retrieved a handgun to defend herself. She reportedly pointed the gun at Wright and told him to leave but he grabbed the gun, pushed her to the floor and shot her, say police.
Another male in the home confronted Wright. Wright was injured in an altercation with the other male.
The woman and Wright were taken to the hospital for treatment. Wright was treated and released, then charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Use of a Handgun in the Commission of a Violent Crime and Reckless Endangerment.
