Ashlee Liebert Found Love On The Internet

A Michigan man was arrested Sunday after he was found naked on top of a 12-year-old Putnam County girl who he met over the Internet, police said.

Ashlee Courtney Liebert, 33, of Whitmore Lake, Mich. met the girl about five months ago on the Internet playing "World of Warcraft," according to a criminal complaint filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court.

Liebert allegedly got into an argument with the 12-year-old over one of the girl's female friends, whom Liebert thought the girl was having a relationship with. Liebert drove from Michigan to West Virginia and picked the girl up at her friend's house, the complaint states.

Police were preparing an Amber Alert when 911 dispatchers notified them about a car on Cross Creek Road. When police arrived, they found Liebert naked and the juvenile nude from the waist down, according to the complaint.

Liebert told police that the girl performed oral sex on him, according to the complaint. Police also say Liebert told them he knew how old the girl was "but still wanted to be with her because their love was so strong."

According to the complaint, Liebert also told police he would still like to take the 12-year-old girl to Michigan when he is released from jail.

Liebert is charged with third-degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian or a person in a position of trust to a child.

Deputies say the girl told a friend she had been talking with Liebert and planned to run away with Liebert to Michigan early Sunday morning. That friend told a parent who called police.

Police in Michigan are working with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department to execute a search warrant on Liebert’s home. Detectives say they’re continuing to gather evidence and have already seized Liebert’s computer. They fear there could be several other victims.

When I first read the headline on wsaz I thought to myself "they got another one". I was a little surprised to find it actually was a kid. I hate WOW it's like the craigslist of games. A guy I know, was in my home, in my grandmother's home, 40 something fuckin busted by the popo for going up to meet what the THOUGHT was a 14 year old girl. I had long since cut off contact when a coworker told me about the impotuning. He was arrogant to the point of no return. And I just knew something wasn't right with the dude. Hell fire I scared the shit out of him the last time I saw him in person other that that one time he was in my workplace. And yep I let all the girls know about it. But Yeah, I know what that outburst was about now, I was deceived by the nerd image but something was warning me.

Used to see older guys try an hook up with "teens" all the time and some girls were always announcing their age. I pray a lot of them were cops baiting these fuckers. If they can do it with drugs and prostitution then why not this. FFS its about protecting the children. We used to flood the shit out of those motherfuckers and there would always be a few there at any one time just to watch out for the pedobears. We would not let them in. And some of them are so OPEN about it. One time I was like "dude, she is 13" and his reply was "I don't care" Needless to say those were his last words before the hammer fell.

So not only is he a child molesting twit with a fucked up first name but he's also the kind of child molesting twit who gets jealous of a 12y/o. Also not saying its true but anyone who names their son: Stacy, Kelly, Tracy, Ashley, Marion, Madison, or any other female name is setting their child up for years of ridicule. Actually, many of those names where male names before people started giving them to girls.

I was surprised to see it was a guy.

A friend of mine has an Uncle Kim, which I found odd at first, but it's fairly common.

And DV, I agree that most of those names were used for boys first, but Courtney?? Sounds like mom wanted a girl and got saddled with a boy instead!

I named my daughter a boy name...then some Hollywood hotshot comes around with the name & everyone started naming their kids that name! Boy or girl.
Anyway, I totally thought it was female & clicked because I wondered where the story would go...it was a dude!!!! With two female names! No wonder he never was accepted socially in his own peer group growing up. I assume of course, but I think it's a good guess!!

Many still are. Up until 2001, Courtney still appears in the top 1000 names on the Social Security Name index of babies named during each year.

My daughter is prego and not going to find out the sex of the baby. They are choosing a name that will go either way. Although they have already nixed "Dakota" (LOL) and my brother's name: "Francis" (which he has never used). I know they will not choose a name that has a definite current gender relationship.

My girls both have unisex names - I have heard both used for girls and boys, but my son, although he has an unusual first name, we went traditional male for the middle. Ashlee Courtney? That is one hell of a name to give a boy, imo!

The case against a man from Michigan facing criminal charges for traveling to Putnam County to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex is moving forward.

He thought she was lying, he thought she was role playing...like it was her mother role playing as a twelve year old," Detective Sean Johnson with the Putnam County County Sheriff's Department testified. "He (Liebert) said that even after he had seen her and realized that she was 12 that her maturity level was that of an adult."

The defense scolded investigators for not collecting evidence when Liebert was arrested.

"Any DNA evidence that might have been available in this case, is now completely lost and unavailable, correct?," Liebert's Attorney Duane Rosenlieb said.

A Putnam detective testified that it was too late to collect the DNA, but investigators had enough evidence without it.

"At the time, I didn't feel I needed it because I had his confession, he had stated that it had happened," Detective Johnson said.

"His client confessed, I mean that is the clearest and most truest statement, even without any of the other evidence it meets our burden," Putnam County Prosecutor Steve Connolly said.

During the hearing Wednesday, the magistrate found probable cause to send the case against Liebert to the grand jury.
