In my opinion, if you truly did change, you wouldn't need 'formal recognition' for those changes. You wouldn't need to make a post singing your own accolades. The mature, and right thing to do, would be to return, apologize for who you have hurt, and move on, instead of telling us how much you've changed, show us by your words and actions and how you respond to others on the site.

Btw, rehab should only mean something to *you* not to us. We aren't your disease and we aren't part of the cure. Whatever you put into sobriety is what you get out of it. If you work the 12 steps, truly work them, they work for you.

For all we know you *might* be a decent person, but your reactions tell us a completely different story.

I apologize if what I say offends you, but I am being as kind as I can be, in my words because if you truly are trying to better yourself, I don't want to see you fail. Most everyone who knows me on here, knows I don't 'sugar coat' anything. And I won't 'coddle' anyone.

Like every other member on this site (and in life), you earn the respect, acceptance, inattention, or scorn of others based on your activity. So far the activity has been little beyond bringing attention to yourself and your universe.

I have a very close friend who is like a brother to me. He has been clean and sober for about 3 1/2 yrs now. He fights the fight daily. People still call him an addict even though he's clean. They always throw it in his face about the things he did when he was on drugs. I have other close friends who are recovering addicts that have put their families and friends through hell, and often times from people in their past, it's thrown in their faces about what they used to be and what they used to do. Some people can't let go of the past, and move forward. This doesn't mean you shouldn't try. It means you should be that much more determined to stay clean and do the right thing, keep making the positive changes in your life.

Btw, I didn't see where Taco called you a 'druggie'.

I dunno shadow, her getting clean means a lot to me. Like a lot of people, she has been thru hell, but most don't have the balls to own it. those that do can crow a little. BTW not everyone that quit using uses the 12 steps. Some use the crab theory.
