Warrant Issued For Jesus Castrejon In The Case Of Missing Reina Cornejo-Triqueros

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- Police say they have found the car of a missing woman and they now believe she was murdered. The woman was on her way to work earlier this week when she disappeared.

On Thursday night, her car was found underneath an overpass on Highway 59 and Hamblen in Montgomery County and detectives are now calling this a murder investigation. But they won't say what evidence leads them to believe the woman missing from Beaumont is now dead.
Reina Janeth Cornejo-Triqueros, 34, vanished from Beaumont on Monday. The 34-year-old mother of two hasn't been seen since.
"The family's lost a mom, lost a sister. It's just a sad deal," said Colburn McClelland, the victim's boss.
Investigators say McClelland is the last person known to have spoken to her. His words, or anyone's words for that matter, are little solace to her family.
"They're just distraught and it's just a sad time. It really is," McClelland said.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Triqueros left home around 8am Monday. She called her boss at 9am from a pay phone in Sour Lake, 20 miles northwest of Beaumont. She told her boss she'd be late for work. She never showed up.
Acting on a tip, investigators Thursday evening found the woman's truck underneath Highway 59, south of Hamblen Road, near the San Jacinto River. The vehicle was partially burned and, according to detectives, it looked as if there had been a fight in and around the truck.
Based on that evidence, a murder warrant has been issued for 52-year-old Jesus Castrejon, the woman's boyfriend. He lives in Conroe.
"He has not been located, he has not been arrested and we believe he could be traveling to either Mexico or to California," said Lt. Dan Norris with the Montgomery Co. Sheriff's Office.
They consider him armed and dangerous. That is unsettling for those living near his home.
A Houston police dive team searched the San Jacinto River Friday near where Triqueros' truck was located. Her body has not yet been found.

    Reina Janeth Cornejo-Triqueros
As I was posting this story this update came across
Woman's body found along San Jacinto River
    HOUSTON (KTRK) -- [...]
Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators at the scene near Interstate 10 and Manmoth. A fisherman discovered the body on the bank of the river.
Deputies tell us Latino woman's body has been in the water for a couple days and is badly decomposed.
Officials said the body was likely dumped nearby, but it also could have moved with the current for some distance.
Clothing on the body is somewhat consistent with the clothing description of Reina Janeth Cornejo-Triqueros, 34, who vanished from Beaumont on Monday. The 34-year-old mother of two hasn't been seen since.
The site where the body was found is downstream from where Triqueros' car was found burned out on Thursday, but officials have not confirmed whether the body is hers.
We have a crew at the scene and will update you with new details as they become available.

Family members of a murdered Beaumont woman says they believe she was killed because of a refused marriage proposal.

Authorities found the body of Reina Cornejo-Trigueros floating in the San Jacinto river in Harris County over the weekend. Police issued an arrest warrant for the woman's boyfriend, Jesus Castrejon of Conroe in connection with her disappearance.

Cornejo-Trigueros' brother-in-law tells 12 News that Castrejon asked the 37-year-old woman to marry him, and that the couple had been fighting in the days before her murder after she turned down his proposal. He believes that Cornejo-Trigueros was on her way to discuss the matter with Castrejon in person the day that she went missing.

Cornejo-Trigueros is a mother of two. Her 7-year-old son remains with family members in Beaumont; her 16-year-old son is reported to be living in California.
