So this is my sappy post where I introduce myself. The story of how I found this place is a little more interesting though, so I shall start there.
Back in early 2009, my friend's daughter was murdered. Her murderers were posted on the site "People you see in hell" upon looking at that site and some of the comments on it, I realized that most people who viewed that one preferred this one, because this one is updated more frequently. I made my way over here, but the story I was looking for hadn't been posted. However, there were many more stories I was very interested in. I'm a Criminal Justice major and this kind of stuff catches and holds my attention. I was a casual reader for the next couple years. Sometime last year, I mentioned an article I read on here to one of my friends at work. Having nothing better to do at work---like working, you know--- she made her way to this site as well. On one of the articles, she saw a regular member post a comment about an incident that had happened in these forums years previously. She googled it, and found the thread. It was a thread by "Owd Scrat" in which she claimed her son was sick, conned everyone, only to have it all be lies. We read that thread for days. I just recently found it bookmarked again on my computer at work, and made my way over to these forums. Promise I'm not your next Owd, but that's how I found this place.
I scanned through the threads and stumbled upon many on Caylee Anthony. I wish I had been in these forums during that time so I could have had people to talk to while it was all going on. I watched that trial every single day. I went to Orlando the week the verdict was read, and I have pictures of the Anthony home as well as the site where Caylee was found. I did not plan to be there for the verdict, but I had already planned a Disney trip there with my husband and sons and it was a coincidence.

Anyway... My name is Amanda. I'm a CJ major, going back to school after a lonnng break in which I had two children, got married, and a lot of other fun stuff. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Yep, good ole CJ. And no case studies, it has just always fascinated me. The program that I was accepted into is actually one that the FBI recruits from. Right now though, I am just feeling it all out before I decide exactly what I want to do in Law Enforcement. My goal has been to help victims in some way. I did first take the psychology route and wanted to ultimately be a Forensic Psychologist. My classes right now though are based around Weapons of Mass Destruction and Biological Warfare, etc. They basically mold you to fit whatever the FBI needs at the present time. I still have about 18 months left to decide what I want to be when I grow up

Haha thank you for the who's who of D'D!! I hope to get to know all of you. I haven't actually lurked in any of the threads newer than about 2009 or so lol. Most of the people that I feel like I "know" from here might not even be in here anymore! It seems like you guys have a lot of fun though. I have a sarcastic and witty sense of humor and a really shitty potty mouth. Also, absolutely nothing offends or embarasses me (I have to small boys, probably why...) so I think I can hang.

I would only make others eat lutefisk in an effort to rid the earth of it! I sure as hell wouldn't eat something that smells like a week old diaper pail. It's dried salted fish that is cured in lye (boiled in water to cook before eating). A Scandahoovian delicacy. It looks like "Fish Jello" when done and is far nastier than I am.

Hmm... good one. Up until about a month ago it would have been something extremely stupid... tornadoes, whales (yes, I'm scared of them. Never seen one but eww, they creep me out!) A month ago though I found out I have a brain tumor. I spent two weeks thinking I was going to die. Finally I found out it wasn't cancerous, but it's still inoperable and painful because of the high CSF levels it causes. It's been a pain in the ass. Being 26 I guess I never realized my own mortality. So I guess... that. Leaving my kids without a mom is a big fear.

LOL you're fine. I mentioned that I don't get easily offended and that I have a pretty wicked sense of humor, right? After I found out I wasn't going to die it got a little better. I use it to ward off assholes now. For instance, today I have a migraine. I was in the cafe getting a Pepsi and one of the nosey bitches that I work with was behind me in the check out. She said "You know caffeine doesn't help migraines" in a bitchy know it all voice. So I replied "Yeah but I have a brain tumor, pretty sure that's what's making my head hurt...not the Pepsi" that shut her up. It's fine, really. Don't walk on eggshells. I am not dying, it's just an inconvience for now
