JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY --- A Johnstown man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a five year old girl
The abuse reportedly happened in the spring of 2006. At the time, Zachory Ritchie was living with the victim and her mother in the Moxham section of the city.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Ritchie would often watch the girl while her mother was gone.

On one occasion, police say Ritchie and the girl were playing monopoly. During the course of the game, the victim landed on the “go to jail” space. Ritchie reportedly told her she could get out of jail if she let him perform sexual acts on her.

Police say he forced himself on to her, but was interrupted when the victim's grandfather showed up. Once he left, the victim ran to her mother's room and hid under the bed. She told police Ritchie came upstairs, pulled her out from under the bed and threatened to hit her if she told anyone.

After that investigators say he continued to abuse her.

The victim told her father what happened in March of 2007. He and the girl's mother then contacted police and Cambria County Children and Youth Services.

Ritchie is in the Cambria County prison on $100,000 bail. He's scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Johnstown on Wednesday.
