But when I read my reply dvi cable is maroon and when I mouse over it it says " shopping link added by skim words " . Is this a new sponsor for the site , or have I got something going on with my pc ?

It's part of vBulletin that can be turned off or on. I left it on as I don't find it either annoying or invasive and see no harm in getting the forums to bring in some kind of money. That being said, they should not be showing up for Bold members, so I will see why that is and fix it.
