After seeing some parents in these pages get cited for child endangerment I did some research. It seems like they can pretty much charge you with it because some of the terms are quite subjective.

In California a cop may think a homosexual couple with children is immoral. Or that watching UFC is a vicious habit. Yep they would be in violation of Penal code section 273g.

Good news for you parents in California. That 14-17 yo giving you a hard time? Abandon them! It is not against the law according to Penal code section 271.

271. Every parent of any child under the age of 14 years, and every
person to whom any such child has been confided for nurture, or
education, who deserts such child in any place whatever with intent
to abandon it, is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison or
in the county jail not exceeding one year or by fine not exceeding
one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by both.

273g. Any person who in the presence of any child indulges in any
degrading, lewd, immoral or vicious habits or practices, or who is
habitually drunk in the presence of any child in his care, custody or
control, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
