A bizarre kidnapping and sexual assault landed one woman in jail who now faces three felony charges.
Savannah Rios, 24, was charged in 3rd District Court with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and forcible sexual abuse.
Police say Rios and her alleged victim met at a residence near 800 East and 300 South on Jan. 11. The victim, who had been dating Rios on and off for a couple of months, believed Rios had taken his cell phone and debit card, so he took a lap top belonging to an acquaintance of Rios to hold for "collateral," said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Josh Ashdown. He told police he had arranged to exchange the computer for his items on Jan. 11.
When he got to the residence, however, Rios
"slapped him several times and then took out a knife and asked, 'You wanna die?'" according to charging documents. She then ordered the man to take all of his clothes off and
proceeded to hit him in the genitals several times with a belt, the charges state.
After getting re-dressed, Rios forced the man at knife-point to drive to his home in West Jordan, stabbing at him as they drove. At the house, she attempted to slash the man's face, but cut his finger as he attempted to block the knife, according to the charges.
