SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - In an interview with FOX 2's Ronnie Dahl, D'Andre Lane says the disappearance of Bianca Jones was a random act and that he's an easy target for scrutiny.
The 32-year-old says he was the victim of a carjacking last week and that his daughter was taken with the vehicle.

Lane was taken into custody shortly after reporting the incident and spent the weekend in jail being held on misdemeanor charges before being released Monday afternoon. "It's their job to focus on all leads and I'm the easiest target right now," said Lane. "I just wish they'd focus on finding the right person."
When Lane was asked to describe what happened Friday afternoon, his attorney Terry L. Johnson, stepped in and said that Lane wouldn't be commenting on details regarding the investigation. "He's been consistent to what he said," said Johnson.
Authorities, including FBI agents, spent Monday searching Lane's Detroit home. "There's nothing there," said Lane. "I really just think all of this is just to scrutinize me."
Johnson says Lane has fully cooperated with searches and even gave consent to authorities to search his home. "Instead they want to go in with guns draws and cameras rolling," said Johnson. "If they want access, we'll give them whatever they want."
Sources have told FOX 2 a child who was in the home last Thursday evening told police that she saw Lane beating Bianca. Lane has admitted to police that he did discipline the child, but when asked Lane said "I've never done anything to cause (his children) any kind of physical pain."
Lane believes Bianca's disappearance was random and not related to any issues in his past. "If somebody thinks it's something I did, then come after me," said Lane. "Don't come after a child who can't even defend herself. Come after me. If it's something I did, come after me. Bring my daughter home."
"I pray that the people who did this they just panicked," said Lane. "And they'll eventually let her go safely."

Just got back from dentist and am catching up on this
but I saw him this morning and lastnight when he was released
I believe hes getting death threats
but I also believe hes behind the disappearence so I say bring them on

I am kinda in shock right now
I didnt realize Wayne County Community College is right in front of me!!
I thought those were all abandoned building that I have been watching them searching around across from my front yard
But thats abandoned buildings along with the college!!
So Im not looking in the river
b/c they are searching all along here thinking he dumped her in the water
b/c hes been caught on tape back there minutes before the "carjacking"
That just makes me feel sick knowing Im a couple hundred yards away from where she was prob dumped
They have hardcore released convicts searching this afternoon they havent updated site yet but when they do Ill post these guys searching

I don't automatically jump to "dad did it" but if he was spanking her hard enough a man stepped in and stopped him he probably killed her. It doesn't take much to kill a 2 year old.

I think he killed her and dumped her in the Detroit River. Really that is the only logical explanation. He was seen there moments before the "carjacking". He could not have taken the little girl anywhere else in that short of a time period.

Her father, D'Andre Lane, spoke to HLN's Nancy Grace on Tuesday night, begging whoever took his daughter to bring her back.
"I don't care about anything else that's going on right now but my daughter's safe return home to her family," he said. "I just want my daughter back home."
Lane appeared alongside his attorney, Terry L. Johnson, who said his client gave police permission to enter his home and has fully cooperated in the investigation.
Stephens declined to say whether police have searched Lane's house.
"My daughter is a beautiful little girl. She has a bright personality. She's the type of person that lights up a room when she walks in it. She's very intelligent," Lane told HLN's Grace. "She's just a wonderful little girl to be around."
About 150 volunteers turned out on Monday to help look for Bianca, said Stephens, who also declined to comment on whether they or police had found anything useful.
She urged anyone with information on the possible whereabouts of the little girl to contact Detroit police.

Yeah the Detroit River is ruthless. Plenty of people have drowned in the current over the years. I can't believe he went on Nancy Grace either. It does sound like a publicity tour. I also hate Nancy Grace with a red hot passion! ugh

"I have nine kids and two grandkids, so I thought this was the right thing to do," said Merchant, 42, of Detroit. "When my kids go to school, I come here."
About 150 volunteers gathered for a third day at Metropolitan United ethodist Church on Wednesday to assist police by searching neighborhoods for anything that may help find Bianca.
On-duty Detroit firefighters joined the search Wednesday, which expanded to east of I-75 in the area of the Detroit Police 13th Precinct.
"The firefighters brought their equipment and expertise to go into houses that were unstable because there are a number of vacant houses in these neighborhoods," said police Lt. Terry Herbert.
Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said that today is expected to be the last day investigators will use volunteers to assist in the search. There are no updates in the investigation, she said.

"When I heard the story, I was immediately worried about her," said Tameka Foster, 31, of Wixom, who joined the volunteer search effort Wednesday. "If this were one of my children, I would want someone to come out and help me."
More than 100 volunteers have shown up to help each day, police said. On Tuesday, more than 200 were there to help.
"This effort has been wonderful and residents are sick and tired of being sick and tired," Herbert said. "Everyone has a Bianca in their family, so they say, 'What more can I do to help?' "

You're in a better position to know for sure than I, but I believe they represent roads. Some have names listed, but other don't. The highways are obvious, the major roads have heavy lines, and the smaller neighborhood roads are lighter lines.
I understand. No one wants to see a sight like that. But she needs to be found. I would not want her to rot unburied and unknown.Im afraid of finding her

I had to sit and think of what a map of my area would look like and then say Yes, that is a block. Feel free to laugh at me.But still that is not to large of an area they searched. I really hope they find something soon. It's the not knowing that is the worst if you ask me.

Ive looked a few times but mainly for bright clothing(pink/purple coat)
and even stood on moms balconey looking,
shes on 19th floor and I feel sick on her balconey lol
but shes dead centre in front of RenCen building so perfect view of the river and saw nothing
her nurse has been looking also and shes found nothing
But Ill keep looking where I can
I found body when I was 12 and was gross,in the water 6 weeks

I have two questions:
1. Where is the water on this map? Talk is that they are searching the river (Detroit River, I presume) but I don't see the river on the map.
2. Is anyone searching down river? I remember @Whisper (I think) saying that the current runs strong on the river. Wouldn't the body be down the river by now?

@sintax Here is the best I could do for question 1. As for if they are searching the river I have no clue.

I only know where Woodward is thats on that map because thats Downtown,
when I come out of the tunnel thats Woodward there in front
But Woodward runs alongggggggg way
There are boats searching and helicopters
although I havent seen anything this morning yet but its snowing
The current would pull towards Lake St Clair then Lake Erie
She maybe underwater weighed down with something and not surface until spring*(extremely possible and very common springtime sight in Detroit River)

Thanks for the info. It helps someone who has never been to Detroit. Does the Detroit River freeze solid all the way across?
