Carlisle, PA – Donald Gross, 36, called police to report that he was being held hostage by a motorcycle gang at the Applebee’s restaurant at Carlisle Commons Shopping Mall last week. The ransom: $250. Police responded, but were unable to find Gross or the rogue motorcycle gang. Police began a search of the area and reportedly found Gross leaving a nearby movie theater. Police said that Gross admitted to lying about the hostage crisis. Police also determined that Gross was had an outstanding warrant on a charge of retail theft – something that they never would have known, of course, if the bonehead hadn’t called them about a hostage crisis. Carlisle police transported Gross by patrol car to Cumberland County Prison for processing during which Gross reportedly spat to such a degree that the car had to be placed out of service until it could be cleaned. Gross, indeed.
