Just saw this on my news while I was wrapping gifts,totally knocks the christmas outta you
Called about adopting and the assholes refusing to give up custody,but judge ordered puppy not returned
So I was asked to call back tomorrow,I offered for the rescue to pay the vet fees b/c that sometimes helps get them released to us

Parking lot surveillance video shows a van dragging the dog attached to a leash on the back bumper. Witnesses called 911.
The dog's owner, Keith Parker, drove through the parking lot while the dog, Cricket, continuously tumbled on the pavement, police said.
"Hearing it for the first time, you immediately become disturbed, obviously," said Louis Galasso, Warren's deputy police commissioner.
Galasso said Cricket suffered injuries to her paws, but she will survive.
"It's the epitome of a senseless and inhumane act," said Galasso.
Parker, 43, is charged with animal cruelty. A judge ordered him not to have any contact with animals pending the outcome of his trial.

According to Warren Police Department Detective Lt. Dan Beck, Keith John Parker was charged in 37th District Court Monday with animal cruelty and drunken driving.
Beck said officers did not see Parker driving the van, but witnesses contacted police after seeing the puppy running leashed to the van at about 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the County Line Trade Center, 20900 Dequindre in Warren.
"When officers pulled up, the dog was in the van hanging out the window," Beck told MLive Detroit.
The pup, named ‘Cricket,’ suffered a bloodied paw but does not appear seriously injured. Beck said the dog, which resembles a Terrier, remains at the Warren Police Department.
Parker, who admitted to owning the dog, refused to take a Breathalyzer test. [...]

What hurts me the most is that after these poor creatures go through something like this, is the look of hurt and betrayal in their eyes, its looks like they are thinking, why did they do that to me, then you see them a few months later and they are just back to being just so trusting again most of the time, sometimes one will be so traumatized it takes a long time again before they can trust, but if I lived to be 10 million yrs old I will never understand how someone can take pleasure from hurting an animal...

I can't believe he was so bold to drag a pup like that through town. Backwoods, of in a heart beat, I can see it happening but there? He is a danger to anything that breathes. I sometimes think my dog acts better then my 6 year old. So if he could do this to a pup, imagine a chld? Lock the fucker up...I am sure no one will miss him, especially Crickett.

I'm just glad the pups alright. It hurts me to know of any animal suffering.

It's too bad animal cruelty laws are a joke. What's it gonna take for them to change?

Keeping my fingers crossed for Cricket to get such a good home as I imagine Whispers is. I used to have a Smooth Fox Terrier/Jack Russel Terrier Mix that looked exactly like this dog except some different coloring. He was a great little dog!

I love animals. I hate stories of people treating them like shit, it so infuriates me! most times I can't even read them. Thanks Whisper for putting that Cricket was okay in the title too. I probably would have been to afraid to open this thread other wise.

The puppyt WONT be going back to him no matter what,
the judge had a temp order on removal and not returned which they will make permanent
99% of these cases its either a cop or fire fighter or someone thats involved in the rescue that end up adopting them
If I get her Id love it but I also have a black lab rescue coming to me next week so
as long as she goes to a good home Ill be happy

Did he intentionally drag her or did he forget she was tied to the van? My friend had a brand new grey chihuahua puppy that she tied to her car while they were at the park. An officer asked her to move her car so a truck could back up onto the grass and without thinking she jumped into her car, pulled out, and ran over the puppy. She was devastated and cried for days over it. Stupid? Yes. Malicious? No.

Either way, this guy sounds like an all around dick.

He wont say why though,still isnt giving a reason for it,I asked today and theres no reasoning behind it
Hes got alot of priors and theres an animal cruelty on it way back I guess
