Willie Majewski Last Seen Near Chartiers Creek In McKees Rocks

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. -- Friday marks what would be the 28th birthday of a boy who has been missing for nearly 20 years.
Willie Majewski, then 8 years old, went fishing at Chartiers Creek in McKees Rocks on Nov. 9, 1991, but never returned home.
Investigators have released an artist rendering of what he may look like now.

"It's a real shame. It'd be nice if they could come up with some clues now," said Don Hollowood, of McKees Rocks.
Hollowood and his family have owned a business just feet away from the creek for more than 40 years.

He told Cipriani how he remembered the massive search for Majewski that included dive teams and crews retracing the boy's steps.
Police said at the time that Majewski's brother told them he had gone fishing.
Majewski's fishing gear was later discovered along the creek bank.

"It wasn't that long ago that there were some detectives back around asking about it again. Then I started to think about it again," said Hollowood. "

So he was allowed to go alone at such young age? I guess to me that is young but I live in Los Angeles, hardly the same as McKees Rocks, I suppose. Poor parents not knowing where their kid is and if he is still alive.

I'm not sure if the link will put you where I am, but the local paper is online, like microfilm at the library. By November 12, they were still searching the water and dogs picked up a scent down a ways from his gear. His mother said he would not have fallen in because he was afraid of the water. Reported is that his friends said that he went fishing.

Would his hair not be darker now? It seems to me that his hair was much the colour mine was as a child; and mine is rather darker now?

Or is this something they would have been looking to children and adult photographs of living relatives for?

Well they showed where he went and I wouldnt let mine go there,its a river with bush around,not the place at all for a kid that young

Why couldn't he have fallen in the water? His mom says he wouldn't have fallen in b/c he was afraid of the water. He gets too close while fishing, he could fall in.

It'd be nice if he were found one day like Jaycee Dugard but the odds of that happening aren't very good.

So weird. I was checking my local news and when I saw his face I thought of this thread. The resemblance struck me right away, but it's fresh in my mind. He was recently killed in Afghanistan. But check out his picture:
