Norman, OK — A man accused of biting a 1-month-old infant in his care reportedly told police he did so out of frustration. Thomas Culbertson, 22, was charged with four counts of child abuse by injury after the child was admitted to the hospital with a broken leg, multiple bite marks and a torn rectum. According to police, Culbertson admitted to biting the child’s foot out of frustration earlier this month, leaving a bruise. He also admitted to having chomped on the girl on at least two other occasions – once on her back and again on her leg.*He told police the broken leg was an accidental injury that occurred when the child fell off of a dresser. And the torn rectum? Culbertson reportedly admitted to causing the injury, but no further details were given. My guess is he got a bit aggressive while changing the kid’s diaper. Hospital personnel reported that all of the injuries were abusive in nature and nonaccidental. Culbertson is currently being held on $250,000 bail. The child is expected to recover.
